I grill about 2-3 times a week and I like using crumpled up tin foil. I have used the wire bristle brush in the past but they do fall apart after a while.

I wish I could do the foil method. It's like nails on a chalkboard for me.

What about one of those wooden scrapers meant for bbq’s. Apparently those work quite well. I love your videos and hopefully I’ll get a nice Weber charcoal grill next year. Cheers

0:30 I have that same brush. The bristles work well, just remember don't use it on a hot grill. But the foam pad on the other side will soon start to separate and leave tiny plastic fibers on your grill. Safer than metal bristles in your throat, but pretty sure I don't want to eat melted plastic either.

I have also tried some different options, and got the best cleaning using a grill cleaner spray (foamy solution) and brushing with a nylon drill brush (cold grill). But I'm with you on this assessment you shared. Cheers!

I got a Scrub Daddy grill brush, and it works well without bristles. It's got a sort of small chainmail around the scrub daddy brush, and you are supposed to soak it in cold water when you use it. When you use it on a hot grill, the cold water instantly vaporizes and the steam melts the gunk right off. I was surprised how well it works! Costs slightly more than a normal grill brush but absolutely worth it in terms of effectiveness and safety.

I'll have to try that one. I'm surprised it doesn't have a smiley face!

I use a palmyra bristle brush. I saw one at the grill shop for $25 and didn’t buy it. I saw the exact same one without the grill logo for $10 at the hardware store by toilet brushes. The bristles are wood so they will burn up when they come off. They pass through a person if accidentally consumed. I’ve had it 2 years, and use it at least twice a week. Long stiff bristles. You just need to use it before the grates are at max temp. I clean about 5-10 min after turning on. Best brush I’ve ever had in 30 years of grilling.

When the grill is almost cooled down just slightly warm, spray with oven cleaner and leave overnight. Then clean with warm water and a pot scourer 😊😊

Hard to find but brushes that use woven sponges of stainless steel shavings work great. One is "GoodCook Everyday 15" Stainless Steel Bristle-Free Mesh Head Grill Brush" Another is "Grill Wizard". Metal scrubber sponge is replaceable when it wears out. Inside in the kitchen those sponges of stainless steel shavings beat steel wool or green Scotch Brite pads or any brush hands down for removing burnt on food.

Nothing beats the Texas Brush, if you’re willing to spend the money

That one looks tough. It has bristles like a welding brush. You are going to notice if it falls out.

I stay away from grill brushes they all don't seem to work well and most likely dangerous.
