This comparison review was confusing. The Bullitt is supposed to start at around $48,000. Fully optioned at $53,000 includes the Magneride suspension, Recaro seats, "Bullitt" Electronics package with navigation, blindspot/cross-traffic alert, B&O sound system, none of which was mentioned. A similarly optioned a GT Premium is about $51,000.

Yeah but at what point might you just get a better car? There are some options that make no sense to not get, like the 1le camaro for 4500 but i cant say id want to spend 53 on a bullit or 51 on a premium. If you want to spend 51 on a premium then yes i guess might as well get the bullit but what can you get for just a few more grand than that....and another few grand above that......and again. Performance upgrades are one thing but most the ice and other bs i can do without. Short of maybe a backup camera on a camaro, which they should give you for free.

a fully loaded GT with the performance pack 2 upgrade costs the same. I'd rather have this. 20 extra hp (without voiding the warranty), the clean look, and it'll hold it's value better than the standard GT because it's a special edition car.

Well in Europe it is more worth it too because we have them limited to 450hp because of the useless laws that we have and the bullitt has 460 so even 10 extra HP is useful.

Exactly, a fully optioned GT is not much more (MSRP), but you will have a better resale value on the Bullit. If your looking at a fully optioned GT it makes sense to opt for the Bullit.

Of all the Mustangs built, this Bullitt edition is, in my opinion, THEE best looking and sounding one ever! It was because of those ads ( back in 2006 ) featuring my favorite movie actor Steve McQueen that helped make up my mind to buy one back then. Mine was only a convertible 4 litre V6 , 5 speed manual with the then new 'gun metal ' color, but it was MINE!

Btw, your car isn't torquey at low rpms compared to the 15-17 because it come with a gt350 intake manifold. The caveat to that manifold is that it sacrifices low end for high end pull. No point changing the rear end. I noticed I lose low end when I installed the gt350 intake manifold too.

Your opening statement was absolutely wrong the bullitt is not a $35,000 mustang it is a fully loaded premium package mustang if you build and price on Ford’s website you will see a GT optioned like the bullitt is over $49K. That is without the Shelby GT 350 upper intake, 87 mm throttlebody, cold air intake, and special tuning. The bullitt is actually a good deal for how loaded it is with the options. Now if dealerships mark the bullitt up for $10, $20, and $30 K then that is the fault of people willing to pay that much...

A Matt Maran collab on this channel that is awesome (he lives about 2 hours northeast of me) and obviously who better to speak about it that the guy who owns one and had a Premium GT in the Guard green color before his BULLITT. Roman loves to play Devil's Advocate, but he was definitely was laughing and smiling when he got behind the wheel of the coolest Special Edition Sports car out there. I absolutely LOVE that Highland Green color and minimalistic design of that car. I got on the Ford website and you can easily hit 50k with a Premium GT with all the performance packs and other options that comes standard in the Bullitt like Matt said. O.K. here in Germany a Bullit is about 6.000 Dollars more than a GT - but....we have the PP1 Package as standard. And so the only big differences between them are 10 hp more for the Bullit, Magneride, intake manifold with the open air filter.

The performance pack 2 has the big 305mm wide tires on all corners. Might be better for grip but replacing the tires would suck. As he pointed out, you either love the chrome accents or you hate them, and I hate them. I think my first choice would be the $35k few-options GT and possibly do a couple tasteful mods, second choice PP2 car, and last, even though I mostly like it, the Bullitt.

I like the premise here, but I wish you guys (or *anyone*) would do some more real-world reasonable comparisons. Sort of like the one you did in 2010 between a Mustang GT convertible and a V6 Camaro - the Camaro being new at the time, cost the same as the Mustang in the real world due to lack of discounts, so you compared them. Team up with a dealership chain or something if you can't get the cars from the manufacturers. Here's a question : What's the best sport / sporty car you can actually buy for less than $20,000? I'm pretty sure it's the Mustang Ecoboost, as I see those for 18-19k all the time. Is there anything else in that price range in the real world? How does an Forte SX hatch compare? Veloster? Golf S/SE? Nobody ever compares cars people actually buy.

For 53k, I’d get the 2019 GT fastback msrp 35k. Get 301a and performance pack 1 about 6k, Add a JLT intake for 300, do a spoiler delete (free), decal the side fenders (free), get long tube headers to make up for the Bullitts amazing 20horsepower difference and you’re around 43/44k. So you’re paying an extra 10k for the Bullitt emblem in the rear, red brake calipers, and now due to the long tube headers, less horsepower :/ Bullitt definitely isn’t worth it

OK, I realize design, style, color, etc. are all "subjective" and depends on the viewer. It's good we all don't like the same thing or life would be boring. However, owning this Bullitt now for three months has been a blast and worth every penny I paid for it. You really have to drive it, feel it and hear it before you can judge. I've had more thumbs-up in this car than any other specialty car I've owned (Corvettes, Vipers, Porches). Ok, I'm blessed I can afford this after many, many years of hard ass work, but this car has given me more smiles per mile than any other and has turned more heads. My first Ford purchase, but I'm now a true Bullitt Head.

Spending screen time mocking the car does not contribute to the viewing experience. The price difference should be contributed to the broad range Ford is reaching in a potential buyer. Ahhhh, so its not about why is this so much and that is more and what are you getting. After a while a car can only have so many features, so you make more money on appearance as well as performance. Budgets are what's important as well as wanting to be exclusive. The Bullitt is a limited production model of car. I happen to appreciate that as even a PP2 Mustang is still a Mustang. So everyone has their desires from budget, to appearance to performance. Most importantly for the Bullitt is the color, as there is no other car with this color. How does this matter? The driving experience with this color matters because you are driving an original. Without the badges people don't know what to make of it, and they like it. So, in short, Bullitt is about appearance and limited production, not performance. It has both btw, so nothing to mock or knock. It really just depends on your attitude and what angle you are coming from. So no matter what budget you have, you can get into a Mustang and when you reach a certain place in your life, you can step up to an appearance package and maybe just maybe you fall into a limited production model at that time. Being limited truly does make a difference in overall ownership feeling, experience and how other's respond to the car.

The Fact that it is painted "Bullitt" Green; has all the one-off, specific, Wheel/tire combo and red caliper Brembo brakes (front and rear) - pretty much negates the Sleeper mode idea. Any Mustang S550 car guy knows what it is right off the bat! The point is...if you feel like spending a little extra for any "special edition" Mustang - like a California Special, High Country Special, etc. - its more just as reasonable to buy the "Bullitt" as an alternative. The extra horsepower is an extra bonus! Its a no-hassle, factory perk. Whats not to like! Best of all - its not, just a stripes 'n Scoop pretender... I'm pretty sure it'll hold its value over the years.

The fans really pushed for him to do the go fund me. He had a huge backing before he even did the go fund me. It wasnt his idea. He did then get a eco boost to modify and test out the new chassis and drivetrain. Partnered with Cobb did some stuff tune exhaust intake basic stuff. Has some disheartening issues with reliability (or more so peace of mind) said the hell with it and got a gt.

In the end the Bullitt is a car for a certain group of people and is intended to be left alone physically and not modified. The GT on the other hand is a blank canvas. Do with it what you will and realistically besides the 350 intake manifold it’s essentially the exact same car. My advice get the GT do the roush power pak 1 intake and tune for $1k and you’re now better off. Badges (Bullit) in general aren’t an advantage aunless its a 5.0 badge. So now that’s a loss in my opinion not being on the fender. And the black tips that flake off paint aren’t good on the Bullit any way and they are just as ugly in silver on the GT. So either way you’re at a loss. Axel back or cat will fix that issue. Either way they are mustangs so you’re fine with both. Me personally I would rather have a GT and if you care about timing the GT comes with the 10 speed auto where as the Bullit does not so that 20hp is meaningless. BTW dealerships in my area are going below sticker on the Bullit now so they clearly aren’t very popular and discounted. But fora Bullit movie fan it’s great. For a modern mustang fan it’s not.
