I've legitimately been dodging other Bullitt reviews for weeks because I wanted this one to be my impression of the Bullitt... I don't want anyone else's opinion on this car... It doesn't mean as much to them as this does to Matt... So Happy for you man.

Thanks man! There’s been some cool reviews from the press drive in San Francisco though! My favorite was by CNET who did an accurate shot for shot remake of a few scenes in their review.

I admit I have only watched one review before this one...so very happy that you now can turn your dream car loose Matt. Congrats and looking forward to long term owner updates. Man even though I want to race mine when I get one I must admit if I have the extra funds I would go for the Bullitt over the Performance Pack level 2 just for that look.

I wish more car reviewers would take a few cues from your channel. Love that you emphasize all the things one would have to live with on a day to day basis. Like how you review the steering wheel, seats, controls, how everything looks and feels. Love that you don't emphasize drag times and numbers. I, like most people am not going to spend 2 hours on the weekend or way to work going wide open throttle and drag racing. I am going to enjoy comfortable seats and listen to a great exhaust or stereo. Thanks and congratulations!

Then why are you looking at a Mustang GT? Why pay almost 50k for a sports car when you could pay like 30k for an eco boost with some option since you dont care about performance?

Being pigeon holed into any one camp only inhibits your experience to "All the heavenly glory" (to quote Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon). I've owned an assortment of brands from Rotary, Ford, GM, Subaru and Jaguar F-type R. I had an 11 GT with the Coyote and have been convinced since that's it an awesome engine.
@BL0HARD4 жыл бұрын
beidlern that scene in Enter The Dragon is awesome, I often think Bruce Lee would talk about the way we have become addicted to smart phones in the same way if he was alive today. Everyone is addicted to seeking stimulation through a tiny screen rather then experiencing the Heavenly Glory of the real world we all live in. “It’s like a finger pointing at the moon. Don’t concentrate on the finger otherwise you’ll miss all the heavenly glory!”

At 18:26...if u replace the clutch spring with the steeda one, around 20 bucks 10 mins labor, it solves the whacky clutch feel... from my experience. It will make the clutch a little heavier but at least u can feel the engagement point. Also be wary of the tsb on the new aluminum mt82 shift forks breaking or bending under hard shifts...a few here on KZbin have had that issue since Ford changed from forged steel to aluminum for weight savings.

Luckily setting my mode to have sport steering and traction control off is making me feel more comfortable. Love it so far.

FYI: The Getrag (MT82); is a German company and make manuals for Porsche (GT4) and BMW. So the so called “critics” who say the manual in Ford Mustangs, like the Bullitt, are from a Chinese company, are wrong! Getrag actually makes great manual transmissions. Critics praise the manual in the GT4 and say it’s the best. So, we have a Bullitt with a Getrag manual, easily as good as Tremec, and used in the best high performance cars like Porsche and BMW.

Those. Seats are by far good enough. You are not racing the car all the time. They are comfortable enough for long rides and hold you for spirited driving. What I personally would change is the bulky Bullitt badge on the back. I would exchange that panel for a blanc black one. People know it's a Bullitt.

Matt I have to say that I agree with you, the exhaust note and overall sound is the best part of the Bullitt. One of the first things people, including myself, think when buying a "sports" car is the exhaust note is not aggressive enough. So nice to see that Ford did it right with this one. OH and thanks for sharing the review of your baby with us... SO what did you name it?

I floored it on my 2018 GT recently and it began to skid sideways despite it having the ratio limited slip axle and soft compound Pirelli tires for extra grip. Fortunately, was able to regain control right away and no harm done. This being my 4th GT Mustang I've owned, I'm used to how Mustangs handle and know how to maintain control for the most part.

As far as the clutch pedal feel ... you can get a softer spring which will help make the pedal feel much more linear without making it feel to stiff. Not sure if you did that on your other S550.

Great review Matt, I've watched all your Bullitt one's as I wait for my one in UK car in Nov/Dec, ordered green with only option available here, magna ride, so glad you and other reviews all recommend it. Not 100% sure of final speck for UK will be, down on power from US cars I know, it comes with recaros' standard (the GT I road tested in July had recaro's which did power back and forward, hopefully my Bullitt will be the same) also hope it will have the open air filter and larger throttle body. Do you have any more details on the specification for UK right had drive cars, or where I might find it?

I'm sad. Ordered my Bullitt early April. Was built June 29th (verified by two calls to Ford and order tracking system: Cotus.com). Has been sitting in "awaiting transit" category for six weeks with no "estimated delivery timing" noted. Calls to Ford and dealership have not revealed "why". I'm guessing some quality issue? Have not heard of any other Bullitt orders in this same situation.....so very odd that my vin numbers is the only one sitting. If anybody out there has any ideas as to how to get to the bottom of this, kindly share. Thanks. PS: Great video, Matt.
@MattMaranMotoring6 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your bad luck. My car sat at the factory for 2 weeks, but 6 is a lot. They must be fixing or changing something on it. The other strong possibility is that COTUS just isn’t updating and your car is actually in transit. My car was still showing on COTUS as awaiting transit as I was taking delivery. It’s often wrong. Hope yours comes soon!
@ericwilliams6266 жыл бұрын
Call the main Ford line and talk to the operator. Seriously, if you have the VIN they can track it on site. Matt may be right that COTUS is not updated and its stuck in transit.
@rayi.23036 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eric. I've been calling them (Ford Corporate Customer Service Line) for the last three weeks and they keep saying car was built but I have to get with dealership for more info. Dealership states they've been calling Ford and their Regional Zone Rep, but he can't even get an answer. Ford's internal tracking "vehicle visibility system" tells them car has been built June 28th and awaiting determination. What determination, no one call tell me. It's been in this status for six weeks now.
@ericwilliams6266 жыл бұрын
Order it again and start over. Mine is in the first stage. Will let you know if it moves. Maybe this is a part back order. Did you order recaro?
@rayi.23036 жыл бұрын
Matt, thanks for your response and concern. I'm thinking something is wrong. Even Ford's internal "vehicle visibility system" (supposedly more accurate than Cotus) indicates the car was built June 28th and awaiting "determination". Determination not defined or offered. Now have direct phone number to the Regional Zone Manager and left message. Totally frustrated. Dealership frustrated as well and understanding. They sold Bullitt to me at sticker, so can't really get on their case. Stay tuned.
