It did pretty good for all seasons. I disagree with trucks being better in the snow. An SUV like a 4Runner is a better in the snow since it has better weight distribution and is less likely to high center in a drift. In addition the Tundra lacks an auto 4x4 option, so it’s not the best option for inexperienced drivers in variable conditions. The Tundra price went up mainly from added content, not inflation. The 22 SR has more on it standard than the 21 SR5. Trucks nowadays are marketed to the affluent. You are not missing much with the lack of heated steering wheel. I’ve heard it’s lukewarm on the Tundra. A lot of Toyota models only went up $100 from 21 to 22. As always a great review!

Oh my gosh! you nailed it!! The more people understand their vechiel, the more they know about it, especially how trucks were to be use! Therefore, for those who purchase a truck in general, should know before to operate a truck,...which is a low % if your catering to that to make a presentation/electronic (where do I push the button for four wheel drive?'.....! As for traction control, yes. turn off the sensors, it will help, but the main basic influence is how you drive it, especially in inclement conditions!

4auto doesn't make such a big difference. most people know that in bad weather shift it to 4wd, right?
@putmeincoach76633 жыл бұрын
It's an issue here bcuz many of the main roads will be clear, but the side roads will be untouched. I don't want to be bothered with having to engage 4wd while driving. Also, I know first hand the importance of front recovery hooks being used to recover vehicles stranded in snow banks. The omission of these two items will cost Toyota THOUSANDS os sales in Northern climates.

@@putmeincoach7663 if you're too bothered to simply engage 4WD via a button, you should just stay home during bad weather. Have some common sense while driving in bad weather. I suggest you take a winter driving class.

@FuJiNF3 жыл бұрын
@@ATVHOBO the mentality of anyone who owns AWD/4WD is they shouldn't have problems driving in slippery conditions. Facts are those AWD/4WD vehicles you see off in the ditch don't have proper tires for the conditions. They are as you say, dumbasses. I always tell peeps that they should treat their ALL TERRAIN tires like all season tires. I tell Subaru people that their AWD is only as good as their tires allow. I tell you i feel better drifting with 4WD than AWD. The only way I'll feel better drifting an AWD is if there is a LSD center diff that prevents a lot of slip or lockable center diff. The other transfer clutch AWD systems are not ideal because they always let go of the clutches once wheel speeds are the same front to back. Plus they are FWD-based.
@ohioguy43263 жыл бұрын
@@FuJiNF It comes down to knowing how to drive. AWD/4wD gives people more confidence so they tend to drive faster but in reality you can't stop any faster with 4wd/AWD and in many cases stopping takes longer because the vehicles with 4wd and AWD are usually heavier. That said Winter tire can make a big difference but it still comes down the the driver.

The reason Tundra doesn't have 4x4 Auto is because its 4x4 system is part time. Part time means it can't be run on dry surfaces because it will put stress on the system. The reason its better is because 4x4 part time distributes power to all wheels. Full time 4x4 generally distributes to one front wheel and one rear wheel. Its also been shown to prematurely wear out transfer case components when vehicles that have auto 4x4 are left in that mode all the time. Even when I had a Silverado with that option, i never used it. Auto 4x4 is junk. Do not use it, do not want it as even an option on my truck. Thank you Toyota for not including it.
