Wayfinder recently underwent a huge format shift. The game moved from a live service model to a offline coop looter shooter in the same vein as Borderlands. After 25 hours with the new update, I can safely say that I'm having more fun with this version of the game than with the previous one. Things feel better all around.

It is a phenomenal art style and world..I was such a big fan of Darksiders genesis.. and Darksiders 3..I think I own both on like 3 platforms..this is definitely scratching that itch.. can't wait to jump back in

If they had gone this way from the beginning i guarantee the game would only have like half the content it has now. Its only as good as it is because they had a bunch of assets they were gonna trick people into paying money for and now they have to unite them under one single price.

I've really been enjoying this version of the game. Now all I want is more of everything- big magic guns, echoes, characters and expansions. What I keep going back to is the seemingly endless lost zone/dungeon crawling that just feels really good. The gameplay loop really works.

Nice review man, it also have the hunts for late game players collect the legendary tier os weapons and armor sets, as well as a new material for affinity, my Grendel is a total beast and growing larger each day, there's the housing system too... lot of features to enjoy

Yep! Any character can run with any weapon. For instance, Venomness with daggers is a blast

I’m pretty excited about this game. I bought in shortly after launch but didn’t play it much because of the server issues of course but I’m a big fan of AirShip syndicate. I think DarkSiders Genesis is the best DS game and I really dug Battle Chasers. All that being said, I’m not too big into live service games. Wayfinder was a game that I was interested despite the online requirements. It’s a bummer that Airship had the rug pulled from under them but I think their idea of converting the game into peer to peer is amazing and a model that I wish more companies would follow.

I love the game so far. There are some issues that need to be fixed or adjusted. Also, I wished they would include a guest character from darksiders or one of their other games. I also wish the game had air combat as well.

Wishlisted (again) I was semi interested when it was mmo style (and how it was kinda like Waframe under DE), but now its a single player for an introvert like me it's even better. also, props to the devs for going this route and not letting their hard work die, safe to say I wishlisted for almost that reason. It's clear they have passion for this project.

There’s absolutely nothing better than an MMO turned single player. MMOs are great but they always have predatory bullshit tactics to force people to waste their money. But pack all of that shit under a single pricetag and its value proposition skyrockets. It sucks they had to literally have their publisher drop them for this to happen but im really glad it did and i hope it works out for them.

I like it! I understand people that spent a lot of money on it are still butthurt. But before you spend a penny on EARLY ACCESS, you are warned that it may not come to fruition. At least they saved the game from what was a certain death of a game. Good job AS. Thanks for not killing the game because the publisher decided to expire their contract out of nowhere. I don't care about the politics, AS picked up the pieces and salvaged what they could.

I’d only be interested in this game as a single player game, but I’ve only ever seen that, even after the changes, this is a multiplayer/coop title. The gameplay in the video looks to be solo, so that’s promising. Anyone able to comment on single player vs coop?

Coop is 4 players iirc and they are implementing a server browser if you want to drop in on public lobbies. You are always solo unless you opt in. Hope this helps!

Co-Op is drop in/drop out, so you'll only play with others if you invite them, or allow friends to join you. If you do play Co-Op, the max player count is 3.

Designed to be fully single player OR coop. It's up to you and how you want to play. Single player will allow pausing whenever in the menus.

"Gunplay" is about as "dialed in" and melee is just about as responsive as it is in tab targetting MMOs. If you point roughly at the target you hit and enemies generally don't react besides giving a strictly visual flinch.

I played the original for 15 hours. Its literally the same game wirh less lag and mid armor system. Same fights so far and mounts. I got my refund which i had to fight for and thank god i did.

AS has only made very well received single-player games before their merger with Digital Extremes who almost certainly were the ones who wanted to heavily monetize the game to make a return on their investment. You were promised additional content "In the founder's season" (Pre-release) like early access to Venomess and free battlepass boosters for those seasons. Heroic Kyros is still exclusive to founder's pack owners which is exactly like the Prime system from Warframe and the monetization has DEs fingerprints all over it. If you can't see that a $150 "FOUNDERS PACK" with a few cosmetic items and battlepass boosters is nothing more than a charitable donation to help the gamedevs finish their game, you truly are a misinformed consumer.
