Ah ha the drone was up Robert ! Some great footage especially the turbine and moody skies. You could see that rain heading your way and that was a real downpour ! Enjoyed the Red Admiral shot before you got drenched. I used that remote prior to going for a cable release and eventually worked out you had to point it at the front !! Huge congrats on reaching the 1k - it's a splendid achievement and well deserved mate.

The shot of you walking down the lane could quite easily be the lane just round the corner from me! So similar! The only difference being that Littlewood Lane, round the corner from me has a few more trees. Very good video. Enjoyed it.

Great job! I have a question : why do you choose very strong close diaphragm numebers: 1/14…1/16..1/20 and more?...do you have more definition choosing number like 1/5...1/6...1/9 and stacking images to minimize difraction? efects? ..thank you very much!

This is quite an old video - these days, I do usually use wider apertures and stack the images. Although looking back at this now, the lens coped fairly well with the narrow apertures. I think using the wider apertures is the better technique though, as you can get faster shutter speeds more easily and, as you say, don't run the risk of diffraction etc. Thanks for watching. 🙂

Great macro shots Robert - the new drone footage looks great, another DJI mini?. That was a bit of a washout mid video, I hope all your gear survived it. Congratulations on reaching the 1000 subs milestone, I think when you subscribed to my channel you were on 60 and I was on about 20, so it gives me hope I might get there too one day!

Great video Robert Right up my street I enjoy close up photography to getting up close to nature , I don't have a macro lens yet but use either my 50mm prime or my 70 - 200 mm and then crop in . Congratulations on 1000 subscribers well deserved.

Cheers Trevor. I think a 70-200 can work really well if the minimum focusing distance isn't too great. Have you tried extension tubes, or those convertors for putting your lens on backwards?

And the drone footage is a great new dimension to your channel, really love the added views of your surrounding area. Is Andrea doing the flying or was that you? Loved the scene as you flew towards the wind turbine! Some really fantastic images in this one mate. I really loved the one of the bee at the beginning and the one of the lady bug at the end. Great! I mostly use a Sigma 105mm now, but I still have the Tokina and love it. I haven't tried the Tamron. If I get hold of one at some point, it would be good to do a comparison between all three.

I have the Tokina 100mm and it's great. Only reason I don't use it much these days is because it doesn't auto focus on my Z7. Works great with the D7500 though. 😊

I to have the D7500 and I use two lenses for macro my main is the sigma 105mm dg os hsm and the other is my 100-400mm C not a macro lens obviously but it's got a good close focus . .. Nice watch, I've been meaning to do a insect video for a while but keep getting distracted. Atb joe

Oh nice. I've been quite impressed with Sigma's lenses, so might need to check the 105mm out. I need something that will also autofocus on my Z7 with the FTZ adapter. The new Z macro lenses look really nice, but also a bit pricey! Thanks for watching. 😊
