Is The Nintendo Wii a Retro Game System or did i buy outside my Gaming Comfort Zone? UnBoxing Used

It's an 18 years old system, I'd say it will be 'retro' in a couple of years :) Check all the battery-compartments, they might need a quick cleaning. Just bought one for myself a few days ago. Have fun !

C’mon kiddo. Do your research before you buy. Got all that for 100? You got a nice steal. Online 100 gives you 1/2 of the console itself. Sadly, like all Nintendo consoles, the meat of the system are Nintendo games with few 3rd party games standing out. So be prepared to spend 180 USD on Smash Brawl, Xenoblade and a Mario like Galaxy. It’s definitely retro today, but the scecret meta of the Wii were the arcade-like games like House of the Dead and Re Chronicles series. As well as being the best platform to play Star Wars Force Unleashed and Re4!

yeah id consider it a retro system now. i usta play it as a kid. so about 20 years ago

i highly recommend the 2 zelda games, skyward sword and twilight princess. theyre both pretty cheap on ebay, just keep in mind you will need wii motion plus for skyward sword but well worth it. also jailbreaking a wii is super easy if you got a computer, an sd card and some free time

the model RVL-001 is the only one compatible with game-cube games (good!) the games you got are a bit meh unfortunately.

Brother there is no thrifting here, I would advise to go window shopping before you commit to something like spending $100 cause what you got I can value it no more than $45, but anyway enjoy your purchase, let me know if you want recommendations and alternate methods of enjoying a wii on 2024.

Wii is just a GameCube with motion controls, so if you consider GameCube retro then this is retro, it's all the same hardware minus the motion controls

2006 isn't retro because i'd say before the ps2 is retro
