@@SoupyPupper I doubt facebook sells it at a loss, there isn't any actual evidence of that. They may sell it for close to cost. Truth is that it uses a mobile processor, its not a mini pc. The FOV is limited. And the construction while durable enough, definitely doesn't feel high end.

Ellis Beats are a prime example of high price tag low dollar consumer crap. They have horrendous sound quality because they do not offer a flat response and instead reproduce mostly bass which drowns out the mids and highs from the music causing it to sound muddy. The entire point of having flat response is so that you have a pure reference reproduction that you can then adjust with an equalizer not the other way around. They are built from poor quality drivers and materials so they are no better than a cheap $20 pair of headphones they were meant to replace. My current headset of choice is a Shure SRH840 which can be had for around $170 these days and offer a far better sound experience that you would expect for the money. They are not the best but for the money they are very hard to beat. They offer a fairly flat response across the entire audio spectrum and are built heavy enough to last for years but not so overbuild that they look cheesy or ridiculous.

The Oculus is awesome already, but here's what I need before I'll buy it: -GSync/FreeSnyc support with simultaneous ULMB -Higher resolution -100 degree field of view or greater.

DesertedFreeman No the horizontal FOV on DK2 is 85. And yeah, 960x1080 is too low of a resolution at that range from your eye.

And it would be funny because as long as you don't understand that GSync+ULMB is just impossible and you simply don't need it when frame rate is stable (most of the time), you'll be ironically playing with your non-GSync+ULMB screen while everybody is enjoying since years ago their VSync+ULMB Oculus Rift. Then you would be begging your friends to let you try Oculus Rift because you cannot buy it because you made a promise that cannot be achieved. That would be funny LOL. No, really, claiming specs you don't understand is a whining nonsense. Imagine they magically get GSync+ULMB and the games suck, are you happy now? The only important claim is a good overall experience. Cheers

Jaime Martín "GSync+ULMB is just impossible" Ummm... no it isn't. The DK2 already has ULMB, and even John Carmack has said that putting GSync in Oculus products would be a good idea. There's nothing stopping people from allowing the ULMB strobing feature to scale its refresh rate with the screen refresh rate.

Techno Turkey It'd be kinda stupid if the price was cheaper considering it'd only be cheaper if they used the same technology as in the DK2 as technology is constantly getting cheaper but they've already unveiled a few enhancements. However, I bought a DK2 a few weeks ago and I gotta say, it's mind blowing.

***** Eh kinda, you gotta remember that Oculus is working with Samsung so they're not straight up buying Note 3's like everybody else I can assure you that lol Also while mass production is cheaper then making them as the orders come in, they'd most likely put that extra money saved from manufacturing back into a better display or better materials and keeping the price target at $350. We already know that the Oculus Crescent Bay has 2 displays with considerable more pixels then the DK2, however they haven't stated exactly how many, and we also know that the CB has much better positional tracking thanks to all the sensors as well as the headset will have built in 3D surround sound headphones. Not to mention the CB is supposedly lighter and has a higher refresh rate as well so chances of it being "cheaper" is very unlikely considering the reason Oculus was originally only going with one display was to make the device cheaper.

I really hope that when the OR is finally published, many of the popular existing games will be patched to support it, such as Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, Half-Life 2, Portal 2, etc. I would definitely play them again with the OR if the patch them.
