5:55. “Tones” (CTCSS) does NOT encrypt or otherwise prevent others from listening to your conversation. It can be set in such a way that you can only hear your friends.

But it does prevent hearing others without ctcss or DCS so channel with be effectively quiet till right sub tone breaks mute. Voice encryption isn't allowed in USA public radios.Europe and UK different rules. Fm+ctcss is the way to go for noise free channels I've tried it works well with randy 3 ht 👍

CTCSS does not give you privacy. Other people still hear you. What it does do is reduce your ability to hear people you do not want to hear. CTCSS is kinda a interference reduction tool.

Ya people keep using the word privacy with these filtering solution! Its actually if ones thinks about it opposite of privacy. Its like sitting inside a one way see through glass, filters everything for you, but people outside the glass box can crystal clear see what you are doing in there 🤣🤣

Ctcss is not private. It just doesn't let others' signals pass if they aren't broadcasting the tone.

@ Right Channel Radios: Hi. I was wondering if I could simply use a PORTABLE vehicle jumper cables (portable battery with jumper) to connect the wires (negative and positive) to to power on the President George FCC? or could I use a cigarette plug for the 3 pin connector? I don't want to run the wires through a bunch of panels to get to the fuse box/battery of the vehicle. Please let me know. TY

Nice radio, i always liked the George for the looks and big display, but function vice i liked the Lincoln 2+ better. So i hope this one can even it more out.

I think the President George 2 is a better radio. I’m just having a hard time finding one in the US. Now there’s a president George 2+, I’d like to have someone tell me where I can buy that in the United States

The President George just released in the USA at the beginning of the year. President does make radios for other regions, specifically European models. However, please be careful when buying non-USA models (assuming you're in the USA) as the frequencies will be aligned for stateside use.
