Is the Raleigh Centros the best E-Bike For Deliveroo?

I like Raleigh ebike I use the Raleigh Motus grand tour low step frame it also has 8 speed hub gears but mine came with rear wheel cafe lock. Mine has a lower range than your bike as it has 500watt power 5 tube. So far in 10 months of ownership I have over 1000 miles initialy in tour mode or sport but the fitter I have become the more I use eco. Mind I’m old guy of 75. My control is diff to your. On one ride on a decent the speedo recorded 35.6 mph with pedalling hard.

For a £3k bike I would have hoped that Raleigh would include at least an Intuvia display.

Hi , I'm currently thinking of a Centros, been and had a test ride today, I quite fancy the hub gears but the 2 cycle shops I have visited have tried to put me off, saying that the unit is heavier and that the rear wheel removal is more complicated, I was wondering how you were finding it. I think it would be cleaner and I remember the days of the 3 speed Sturmey Archer.

I’d definitely go for the hub gears, Rich at Ebike Sussex recommended them to me as they last longer and being able to change whilst stationary you never have a problem with the chain coming off. I am considering selling mine as I’m not delivering anymore as my other work has taken off again. Don’t know where you’re located but if you’d be interested in mine I’d be happy to talk

Great review! About the digital display device on the handlebar. Is that removable?

I’m actually not sure and not with my bike to check. I think so, but don’t think it comes off that easily

When the battery eventually needs replacing, does the bike shop replace them? as there is nothing on the Raleigh website to get replacement parts

I’ve had 50 miles out of it. But it is dependant on the terrain, luckily not many hills around my area.

That’s riding it on tour mode which I find best. It’s very much pedal assist more than driving you along like on some cheaper bikes

Why did you not go for at the different frame ? Does the motor drag after you reach the assited speed limit

I went for the step through because delivering I’m on and off the bike all the time. There’s a bit of drag when you get up to speed but not terrible, you can get it going faster
