Sean, very articulate review. You don't miss a beat. As for the club setup, I think they are specific on club brands as many players as myself have 2 sets, so it is nice to compare the irons from one to another, so a one time setup as required is not such a big deal. I have purchased the Rapsodo mlm2pro about 4 weeks ago but still waiting for delivery. But watching your review maybe I should consider the Mevo+. Does it have the same side spin accuracy as the Rapsodo? Again excellent review

Thanks, this is a very accurate review. I think you nailed the type of consumer who would get the most out of the MLM Pro 2 and the reasons why. For me my ability to connect has been great with zero issues 🤞. I do get missed shots from time to time, but the majority of the time a shot will be captured. if Rapsodo can reduce this issue even more- Great 👍. The only thing I would like to see more, is having the simulated course have elevation changes. Almost every course I have played so far is completely flat with the exception of Ridgewood CC (Waco, TX). Having the elevations as part of the simulation does make the experience is more enjoyable. Other than that the MLM Pro 2 has been a perfect choice for me and my needs.

Very fair and honest review. I have the MLM2Pro and, like you, I have not experienced many of the problems some appear to have had. I can connect with my home wifi and direct to the MLM mode. The second option appears to be the most reliable. I also have a Skytrak and I have only used that once since getting the MLM 2 weeks ago. I agree that the fact you can only see three metrics is just strange, why can't I see them all, or at least 6, for example. The new firmware update is coming on Monday 15th May and it is promised that this will fix the main issues.

Great review, as always…I’m in the data nerd camp, so love my Mevo+ with Pro Package. No subscription is a huge plus too! I also have a SkyTrak for limited space situations, but the data isn’t as good or easy to manipulate…

I took your test and you suggested mevo plus, and to be fair your probably right, but for the time being I've gone with the MLM2 pro, I'm in the process of setting up a simulator In the garage so only using the mlm outdoors, if indoors it's not as good then I'll go mevo or bushnell your review was excellent and really helped me narrow down my decision thank you

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I'm wondering if the MLM2 Pro will connect to a phone hotspot wifi network while on the range? That would give internet connectivity for updates and what not, as well as not having to use a cellular tablet of some sort. My ideal setup on the range would be tablet paired with MLM2 Pro both on my phones wireless hotspot hooked up to an external battery.

I know you can only see 3 metrics at a time, but ALL are still calculated/recorded correct? Therefore, I can click any particular swing and then see the data points? Post session of course.

Always like to use Bluetooth connection with my mobile and the R10 hasn't let me down, plus I enjoy using smart view on my mobile to show the R10 on a TV while practicing. Would love to know if there are any free programs to use with the R10, for an old bloke some of these programs are way to expensive. Enjoy your channel :)

That's awesome to hear. Yeah the R10 for the price is fantastic. I don't know of any free programs to use with the R10. At $350 for lifetime access it's not cheap, but Awesome Golf would hands down be the one I'd look for to use with the R10. I believe they've also just recently announced compatibility with the Rapsodo as well.

Thanks for the review! I appreciate all the detail and thoroughness. I actually find the metrics offered by the Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro to very underwhelming, especially when compared to the Garmin R10. The only “input” metric on the MLM 2 Pro is club head speed, which is pretty basic. I will say that understanding club speed, ball speed and smash factor are super important, but it is the bare minimum for useable data by which to improve. By contrast, the Garmin R10 has those same metrics plus face angle, path and angle of attack. If you are trying to understand “why” your shots slice/hook/fade/draw/etc, the MLM 2 Pro really doesn’t offer anything. Face, path and AoA are super insightful and I wouldn’t consider any launch monitor that did not have those.

I don't think R10 has those, only calculated or estimated, not real measurements. Only Mevo+ with premium software has them.

@@MrMunchies2x you are right. I was going off the Garmin website, which makes no characterization between measured and calculated parameters. A little more research and I see that now. I have easy access to Trackman locally, and the absence of more robust measured input metrics has kept me away from seriously considering purchasing one of these consumer units. Mevo+ with Premium, as you mentioned, is getting closer.

The MLM2Pro is horrible. Not only is the data incorrect but often times it will be anywhere from 10-100 yards off. Oh, it misses shots constantly if you hit into a net. But wait, it gets worse. The annual subscription is $199 and the software is riddled with bugs, crashes, consistent connection issues. The company should be embarrassed. You’re better off buying the cheaper option, a PRGR.

Started with the R10 and wasn’t overly impressed, lots of missed shots. Was pumped for the MLM2Pro and after a month of using I’m over it, it’s no better than the garmin and you have to pay for a subscription for shit software. I returned it already. Bought a Mevo+ and use it with gspro, finally very happy with the setup. Mevo+ has blown me away and gspro is incredible.

I’ve seen similar comments like this. I’ll probably still get the R10. I know it’s not perfect, but it’s really good for that price range. It’ll give me a good proof of concept for a home sim and help convince the wife it’s worth it to upgrade! It shouldn’t be hard to re-sell those cheaper sims to upgrade. I haven’t researched the Mevo+, etc very much due to price

Too many bugs at the moment for me to purchase. And the number of wifi complaints has me thinking that it's possibly a hardware problem. As with any new piece of kit, it sometimes socks being an early adopter and it often pays to wait 6 months.

Assuming I don't need to get special balls to use the Mevo+, wouldn't you say that based on how banged up the RPT balls get/the subscription after the first year/the cost of a software like E6 (once it's compatible) for the MLM2 Pro it likely will start to get relatively close to the cost of a Mevo+? Planning on just using my launch monitor indoors as a simulator/range to improve my game on and am still torn between the 2.

I don't know if I'd quite go thaaat far. Especially if you throw in either Pro Package of Face Impact of the Mevo Plus. But yes, the $199/year subscription will add up over time, and if you replenish the RPT balls on a regular basis, there's certainly some extra cost there. I do believe once e6 is compatible, that there will be some free courses included. I'd guess 5, as opposed ot the 10 of the Mevo. So yes, the device is definitely going to cost more over time than the $699 price tag shows.. And the fact the Mevo Plus has no subscription is wonderful. But they're still pretty different devices. If you have the money, I'd lean towards the Mevo Plus, because the data is so much more customizable and detailed. But I think you'll be happy with either. Especially once some of the bugs are worked out with the Rapsodo.

Looks like your MLM2 isn't working right, unless you green screened the charging cable. The amber light should not be on when it isn't plugged in. Mine (the replacement for one that didn't work) is super buggy, connection issues, doesn't sync well, misses shots, incorrect distance calcs, will not export data, etc... I do agree they are working hard to fix it bc it is slowly getting better. It would be nice if you made a video of you using it like I did for viewers to experience the frustration.

Yeah this seems like a trap. You would probably use a device like this at least 4-5 years which means about which adds up to 1000USD which almost brings it up to Mevo+.

I don't think it's a ridiculous price at all. If you're eliminating range sessions with a home set up it's really not much at all especially considering how much more valuable practice can be than just beating range balls.

I doubt I will ever take mine outdoors. I practice into a net in my indoor golf facility (AKA my garage). Using it 5 times a week minimum. That's a lot of range fees saved! :)

instead of including the balls they should have just included a alignment tool for golf balls with the same dot pattern that way you can just sharpie them on to your specific ball. not everyone likes chromesoft balls especially x variants.
