The Re 2005 Series 0 is a 5.0 plane that is basically somewhere between a Spitfire LF mk IX and a A6M5 Zero.
Good climb, good dive, good turn but its really slow and fragile.

I understand that this is not OP, but it is a slower plane in an axis team so it's only disadvantage is generally cover by your teammates. Also, what am I supposed to do when flying my yaks, I can runaway from this in a shallow dive/ straight line, but do's, ta's, fw's and bf's will all be able to keep up rather easy.

Armin I recommend you either attack the Re.2005 with a teammate or boom and zoom him. Just avoid flying into the swarms of 109s and 190s. It’s easy to automatically pick a target and throw away your alt to get one. Try to look at the situation and wait for a good opportunity, don’t always rely on maneuvering, the yaks are quite fast at low alt. While the axis may climb to 6000m, they will always come down to low alt when they realize no one is at their alt.

DEFYN any ideas on how to counter this thing? I got caught by one at 22k feet in my FB11, and it takes forever to out speed one in my P47. When I face off in my spitfire, it takes a series of very specific events to get behind one, or to stall it out. I'm running out of ideas here, I find I need to fly planes well above it's BR to compete with it?

You have to outspeed it and be patient, your best bet is to drag it low. It favours low IAS fights and the higher you go the more it favours towards the 2005. Drag it low, get some seperation with their low topspeed and try to zoomclimb away then you can bnz it. But I agree it's annoying to fight and it doesn't leave much room for error

After playing with Epic Thunder Sound Mod for over a year (both aircraft and ground) I can't believe how bad the vanilla sounds are. Props sound like lawn mowers, jets sound like my mum's vacuum cleaner she had 30 years ago. The sounds cut off and clip each other in vanilla. Also in ETSM the explosion distance was factored in and you heard sounds with an appropriate delay. One guy did a better job with ETSM than an entire multimillion company in 7 years. That tells you something. Having said that I do like some vanilla sounds in ground forces. Russian autoloaders sound great, shooting as well. Reloading in general sounds really good. I'm waiting for ETSM to come back. A new version is being developed where the engines' sounds reflect exactly the rpm and gears. Yea, I got mad the first time I had a dog fight against this thing. Never fought one, didn't think it could handle itself at 6k up...Welp. I learned real quick. I was in one of my premium griffon spits.

Yeah, this thing was the high-altitude V series fighter (G-55 was mid-alt, C.205 was low alt), meant to be the interceptor of the bunch. IRL Spitfire pilots both feared and admired it. IIRC, a Spit pilot postwar was asked about it, and he stated that it was a shame none survived the war, as it was the best bit of engineering that came out of the Italian's aviation programs.

780? omg with the k4 the other day I hit 767kmh ias and the thing feelt like it was on the limit, saved it and didnt rip anything but im sure before it hits 770 it rips apart lol and since the 650kmh the compression is so hard sometimes I dont even know how I pull it off the dive, on top of that on the k4 if someone get on your 6 pretty much GG already because its like trying to get a spitfire out your 6 when using a ta 154. Meanwhile re 2005 turns like a spitfire, holds energy like a bf109 without pods and has the fire power of a 109 with pods lol

In Bf 109's: If you want to slow down ASAP, do this: Throttle: 0% Prop pitch: 100% If you don't throttle down, you will fry your engine. This is known as the german airbrake, it's insanely powerful.

DrunkBAnnana The griffons make up for it with acceleration, speed, and climb. The Re.2005 couldn’t dream to have the speed of a griffon spitfire. Think of it like an Italian zero, boom and zoom it. Plus the Re.2005 compresses easily above 600kph. If you happen to point your nose down while going above 700kph then rip.

In fact, the sheer engineering put into this plane was so good it was only produced in limited numbers since the Italians realized they had no way of mass producing it in any kind of reasonable numbers and went for the G.55 instead being simpler but still very capable

Urdnot Wrex You haven’t given enough information as to how fast the biplane was going, etc. If the biplane was also going 600kph, then he was probably compressing.
