I would love to see a Mini, pop 2 and pop 3 comparison. This testing would be very helpful to consumers like me. Thank you for all your hard work!

Especially since the mini has 20 micron precision, where as this never pop 3 has 50 micron precision, and that is a downgrade, so what does it better than the mini?

Great video. Thanks. For sure a video with all three would be great.

Cheers! Ok, I'll see what I can come up with.

Definitely want to see a side by side comparison, especially on how much better the mini is for small details, I want to scan small details but the mini has drawbacks due to using a different type of light, hoping the Pop 3 will be good enough on small details for me but I'm just not sure yet.

I bought a POP2 scanner to scan mechanicals parts. It just don't work well for me. I will wait the POP20 before buying again!

Aaaah, what a pain. What kind of items where you scanning? Perhaps the Revopoint Mini might have been a better scanner for your situation? kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZi3aJyih7R7m9E

I've just bought one. Can't wait to get my hands on it! It was this or the 3d maker mole. For out of the box this seems more to offer for the nearly the same price.

Wanna to know how small Pop3 could scan compare with mini
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
My understanding is that the Pop 3 is 20mm x 20mm x 20mm and the mini is 10mm x 10mm x 10mm

Thanks for being honest in your review. I think the video title sums it up perfectly. I'm still waiting for an under 2,000$ scanner that can do 9/10 scans out of the box without prep work.

How do you think the quality and tracking compares to the mole?
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
Marginally better, but I still intended to do a proper comparison which I will post as soon as I can.

Also interested in that comparison

What nobody ever shows is what happens if you have uneven detailson the bottom. How do you capture that and make sure it's aligned?
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
You have to rotate the object then allow it to track. I've had hit and miss results so far with doing this though.

All I've been able to successfully scan is the bust. Anything else I've tried to scan never comes out well.

Hi, is this good for scanning dark /black surface too?
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
Dark and black surfaces typically just don't scan very well with out preparation sadly. Bit of spray or power and you can get round it.

Is it possible to use this for large scans ( full vehicle)
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
Technically I guess it's possile, but you will be there for a very long time and you would likely have to split it into parts. Also due to the reflectivity a lot of preparation will be required to get good results.

Due to the fact that this scanner is close to 1000 € I´d rather recommend the Einscan SE instead. Far better software and Shining 3D is without doubt the much more "professional" brand in this respect.

A functional part is the most useful thing one could scan. Unfortunately your video does not show one. All cheap 3D scanner so far could not live up to the hype.
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
Give me a couple of examples of functional parts and I'll give it a go in the next video. :)
@YouTube_Nr.1 Жыл бұрын
@@ratemyfuneral Maybe some kind of cable clips, cable holders or spare parts, piece of an air duct. Something that would take more time to model in 3D. So that the scanner would really save some time. 👍
