I would have to say, based on my opinion, no one has commented on having their truck repaired. This is probably a rare incident, where a robotic was not welding the roofs correctly and that’s why it’s only 3067. It would certainly be a lot more if it was a serious crisis.

Agreed, can't find anyone yet impacted. Hopefully a small number in the end, but nice to see GM being proactive in the meantime.

My 24 3500 HD LTZ DRW Diesel is in the dealership right now for a roof popping noise. They have had the truck for 3 weeks and haven't determined the cause of the noise yet. Yes, they are able to reproduce the popping noise, but haven't pin pointed it yet. I honestly don't think they have done a visual inspection per the TSB, but I will ask that they do.

I just got my 3500 Denali deasil a month ago great looking but when I took into a brushless car wash the nose was terrible. I owned a 2021 and a 2018 Denali trucks and used same car wash I was never so loud and I thought for sure water was going right in truck . I looked and saw the roof goes up and down makes the same nose as beer cans the hood to. Before you buy take your hand on back of hood and roof I hope your tuck is better. Panels that move will make the edges Crack as soon as I bring back to dealer then I will show them.

My 2024 Silverado 2500 is in transit. The production week was 11/27 so hopefully it’s not in that group of trucks affected by this issue. The dealer is checking the VIN. If it gets here and it has this defect I may be tempted to refuse delivery. Thanks for the video.
@AdventureRocks9 ай бұрын
The more I read about it it seems very limited, so hopefully it's a very small number of units actually impacted. Because of the stop sale on the potentially impacted units, if yours is in the lot, I'm pretty sure your dealer will have to inspect it before they can offer it for delivery. Hopefully not though because it seems very limited right now. 🤞🏻

How will the repair ever last for even a few years in an area that will always get rain? Trying to seal it will create a bigger problem, in my opinion. Been a fan of GM for over 50 years, but to attempt a lasting repair to this issue is ridiculous, for a multitude of reasons.

@@AdventureRocks Me as well. I have 2 older GM cars that I want to haul together to car shows, etc. I plan to order mine with the gooseneck option but haven't decided between the diesel or gas. I don't need the space of an extended or crew cab and I just like the looks of a reg cab truck.

The GM bulletin shows an extended cab. I ordered a 3500HD PRO crew cab that was built in late November, and is supposedly undergoing QC now (late December). Dealer says mine is not one covered by the notice. Which is good, because I would refuse delivery. Crack in a new roof? They"ll never match the paint, and I'd worry about the integrity of the roof after welding. Interesting that GM has said nothing about what the cause was and specific models affected.
