I knew about Salesforce in 2010. A company I work at for a short period was using it and it was not very good back then. I wish I had decided to get into it back then but I didn’t start learning administration until 2022.

it was foolish for people to push 'learning' strictly Salesforce (admin BA ... even developer) roles ... you are much better off if you study fundamental disciples (data analyst, business analyst, web development, app development) AND THEN piggy back those skills with Salesforce (very easy to learn after you have learned one of the fundamental disciplines) so in effect you multiply the available job positions and industries you could fit

Yeah but a lot of people did that because they didn't have experience and or had a degree that wasn't computer science.

Lot of companies need subject matter experts with actual experience. But they can’t afford to pay consultants or Salesforce and thus need to hire folks with experience.

Too many people coming into the industry because they see all the "Get a Salesforce Career, earn big $" youtube videos. They missed the gold rush coming out of the pandemic and everyone is trying to FOMO in. Ultimately, the demand is way down and I think with the number of positions available going down, employers are going to start bringing the salaries down. Essentially, the "You should be lucky to even have a job in this industry" approach. Why hire you for 150k when I can hire someone for less because they have been out of a job for 4 months and are willing to work for pennies on the dollar? Just my two cents.

Lots of contract work too. 6 months w/o right to hire. Come in migrate data or build some integrations and see you later. Bill rates are still high but it's short term at best.

Yeah those same people were out of work for a reason and most of those you hire will likely give you shit results.

Thanks for not sugar coating. It is definitely saturated and I think the future looks bleak. Best to get out of the Salesforce ecosystem while you can

Things might look bleak right now, but the economy and market are expected to recover. If you do have a real passion for Salesforce, now is the perfect time to brush up on your skills and be prepared for better days ahead.

@@OfficialSFBen I disagree. I think the economy will stay sluggish for a long time due to structural issues. After 2008 the economy didn't really recover, tech was fine for a while but eventually time caught up with it as well. The SF job market is even worse, not so much because of the new entrants who IMO don't really matter because most will not ever really get a job in SF, but because the Consultancy model has been broken. Consultancy used to dominate because these firms controlled the high end of the labor pool. Someone might quit a firm but go to a similar firm for more money, but never into industry. That has changed, there are a lot of skilled, experienced people that have gone into industry and thus as a result the demand for consultancy firms has declined dramatically. The only way for this to change would be if there was a flood of new companies adding SF which there isn't. As a result anyone with less than 5 years is in a precarious position where their job is in jeopardy. In five years it won't be any better, all the jobs will require 7-10 years experience, and all those in Admins will still be there without a means to upskill and advance. To be honest my advice would be for people to go where the opportunity is, and Salesforce isn't it.

I do think it's saturated unfortunately. Even the last few teams I've been on have been bloated and I could tell people would be pushed out or laid off.

Currently at least in Spain, developers are admins too so the admin position is a nosense in spaniard job market. Idk if this is happening in more places.

We have noticed an "admineloper" trend becoming more popular where companies look for both jobs in one role, but the admin role definitely does still exist by itself, but with more requirements for it than before.

specialist skills are still in demand but it's definitely a lot less than a year or 2 ago. With my CPQ skills it's pretty solid but I can imagine a standard admin or dev will have it much harder. 2024 will look worse, many big companies are downsizing and consolidating or hiring in-house. My recommendation would be, go for the perm job and sing out the storm. In a few years the market will attract again. Lastly, diversify, like get some amazon or azure certs and put some effort into learning to leverage AI. That's hot with companies right now

The "Facts" matter very little to those recently laid off in the Tech Industry - including the SF crew. The SF marketplace is "saturated" and may well be for the foreseeable future. However, if "tech" be your passion - then - pursue it! If SF is where you want to be - and you believe in it - then - learn the platform even better and simply try to become more knowledgeable than other SF job seekers/competitors. Unemployment can be a time to "learn" NOT 'lament".

How to reset textfield value on picklist none value selection? I have a picklist & a textfield on page layout. My requirement is when the user changes value to "none" then textfield must be auto blank . Like i selected "x" value from drop-down. Type a text in the textfield. Now again I changed picklist value "x" to "none" then textfield should be auto blank .Same as depend picklist User doesn't want to click on the save button. He needs auto clear same as drop-down on change set text box value in jQuery .

Not possible on a standard page layout without clicking save. You need a visualforce page or LWC.

There are a lot of fake resumes, I mean many new bootcamp graduated people add 3-4 years of experience even though they do not have any in the field. This is not fair. Honest people who writes the truth does not have any change to be accepted. How hiring team could not understand that people are lying and and they do not have experience. if they understand, how they trust to those are lying
@nathanlovik1753
@nathanlovik1753 4 ай бұрын
Yeah but how many of these bootcampers actually get jobs? I don't know of many if any. The bootcamps are great at taking your money, but that doesn't mean you'll get a job. Plus companies have started to catch on by asking applicants to take tests, and you can tell in an interview if someone knows their stuff if you know how to ask the right questions.
@elizaleke8373
@elizaleke8373 4 ай бұрын
Yes they do get jobs. I look at some people's LinkedIn and SMH at what they put there. Someone taking claims in Healthcare went for mba and put financial analyst and got hired as senior financial analyst. I saw someone I know work at Amazon warehouse, went to a bootcamp and got a senior GRC position among others. So some of who don't lie on our experience and resumes don't even get selected by recruiters let alone hiring managers. Btw they don't flunk the test either most of the times. They already went to bootcamp and just want the opportunity to get selected for interview and sell themselves so they lie on the experience. However it's not everyone of them that got hired lied, some it's networking or moving up in their company that's ready to take a chance on them.
