Is the Sigma 24-70mm Art Lens for Sony Still Worth It in 2023? | 5 Reasons It Is Still a Great Buy!

Sold this for my GMII. I still miss the Sigma! It's much less clinical than the Sony with lovely rendering and focus falloff. I have always found that shots taken with the Sigma Art 24-70 are immediately recognisable. In fact, in my opinion the Sigma Art 24-70 bokeh is actually slightly more pleasing compared to the GMII. The rendering is a little warm by default though, like most Sigma lenses, and while the Sigma is beautifully built, it's a little chonky. Earlier Sigma models also had the dust issue as you mention. This was fixed in later models.

Get the tamron equivalent, it's very similar but much butter stabilization and a little cheaper. That's because I shoot canon though

I own this lens for the same reason half the price of the Sony. The Tamron isn't wide enough. Only down side its heavy. Can't see anyone vloging with this. Get 20mm or wider prime for that.

The 20mm prime is a great vlog lens. And agreed - this lens is definitely not made for vlogging haha I have had to in a pinch and it’s basically just my fat head in the frame 😂 thanks for watching!

One other thing some say native Sony lenses stabilize better (not sure if it's true). If you use active stab in the camera it will make your lens less wide. For indoor events I can't stress how important getting wide enough angle.@@LukeAntunes

@petercofrancesco9812 I have heard the same but never really tested it. I should test it on my 20mm G vs on my Sigma 16-28!
