I bought the not push mower for my parents property and just brought this self propelled and I love it. Relatively quiet from the ego 22 aluminum self propelled, squeal was horrendous on the self propel mode. It now comes with two 5.ah batteries. And it is advertised as 45 minute run time and 75 minute charge time. I’m so happy with it. I can also use my parents batteries since I have two for the non self propelled one.

Best way to keep use less battery power and keep battery temps down plus give the best cut… KEEP BLADE sharp.. since all electric mowers can be stored vertically giving easy access to blade area while still installed on mower unlike gas mowers… Fairly easy to use crenel lawnmower sharpener or one more that attaches battery to a drill and sharpen after every use…most electric lawnmowers sense difficulty cutting and spin faster using more battery… BUT a RAZOR sharp blade doesn’t need RPM to cut…

I love the 48v with no self propel because it is so light and easy to maneuver. I bought an ego 22 aluminum self propelled and it weighed >80lbs and it squealed so awful and was too loud to run at night. The weight was so bad it was better to mow with the no self propelled Greenworks.

You are the fourth video that I watched on battery operating lawn mowers and I have my hats off to you. You were the most. Informative in all areas and you're looking to the future. In regard to these powered lawnmowers I feel was correct and right on you're right on point. It's only a matter of time until they change the technology. I have a special interest in this one. I will probably purchase this one. The date I saw this is July 20th. A year later after you recorded this, filmed it and tried this. Thank you for so much for your experience in your knowledge.

Fantastic video and review of this mower. Thank you for all the information. I’m glad to hear that when not using the self propelled function that it pushes easier still, which could save battery life as well when in a pinch. Well done sir

On charging batteries, have found with any type of battery you need to let them cool overnight. My Ryobi batteries like to be charged this way ... and battery life, the Ryobi 4 amp 18 volt battery I have one that's close to 9 years old, still good as day #1. I like the Green works mower in this video. I'd budget and get two extra batteries to get the job done, this would help with the charging cycles.

My Greenworks 21" 48v depleted in 18 minutes . I did have 4" or 5" tall grass and I did not run it on turbo. Batteries had 3 bars each to start. For my little patch of grass it's ok, but definitely it would be useless for 1/4 acre or more, unless you you have 4 extra back up batteries to switch when you run out, and you will.

I have the 60 volt Greenworks and love it, cuts tall grass with ease. Got it at one Lowes for half price ($249) last September. Weird that my local Lowes wouldn't honor the price that a Lowes two towns over was closing it out for.

The bag was full several runs before you emptied it.Because if you look in the video you can see the grass line that it left behind because the bag was full.

My Craftsman V60 takes a long time to charge the 7.5ah battery that I have but I can mow all of the property I need to mow from the self propelled mower... so I always just let it charge fully and it does take about 3 hours...I won't need it again until I mow again...so charge time isn't critical to me as long as I can mow everything...in one charge...one battery

Do you keep these mower's around? I'd love to see a second "fall leaf pickup" review. I can put up with a "medium-tier" mower most of the year, but when fall comes I just want to vacuum up my yard. Such a review might not be needed, I was really impressed with how it packed the grass into the bag. I've got a dewalt gen1 and it inflates the bag nicely, and I recently picked up a used (cheap) toro 20367 which doesn't inflate the bag. If it doesn't pick up leaves this fall it's getting sold - but I can get a gator blade for the toro.

@@WorkshopAddict for around the house stuff and washing vehicles it does fine, a little slow. But a lot cheaper and more convenient than a gas unit... All in all I'd give it an 8/10 and recommend as long as you don't expect it to work miracles. Durability... I can't personally vouch for yet, it's only six months old. But KZbin reviews seem promising.

To put that in perspective 3,750 RPM works out at a blade tip speed of 343 feet per second, or 233 mph, which is about 30% of the speed of sound. That does not sound slow to me...

One thing that bugs me about the 60 volt mower that I bought is that they didn’t leave any room for higher AH batteries. Wonder why they did that with a second gen mower?

Look at the size of yard you have. Is it very small? This might work. What is your budget? Can you afford more power? Do you want more power or a better mower? Do any stored near you sell this model or the 60 volt?

I just bought a house and wanted an electric mower, so I ordered this one (non-self propelled) a few min ago. It was on sale for $259 for one day only and nothing in my research came close to that price for those specs during current chip/supply shortages. I'll have to see how much of my 1/4 acre lawn the 2x24v batteries cuts for me. Hopefully being a push mower, it will save a lot of power. Can you cool the batteries in the fridge or is that bad for em?

Get the Toro mower with 7.5 amp battery its 50.00 dollars more but you get a bigger battery and a 5 year warranty on the battery plus Toro been around a long time
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 3 жыл бұрын
I do t disagree, but you have to give greenworks credit here. They build a nice "low-end" machine. No corners were cut. That is probably why it is pricey.

I have a green pressure washer electric works great very happy with it I was just saying that for 50.00 more you it get more bang for your buck and besides the Toro only needs one battery so that can save you in the long run to replace one instead of 2 love your channel keep up the good vids

Well ford has been around a long time but Tesla still makes a better electric car.. Toro battery system is nearly identical to the greenworks 60v/80v , snapper, MTD, kobalt etc… Greenworks 24v is built like RYOBI, Dewalt, black and decker, Worx etc … sure Dewalt has great batteries for TOOLs but way different environment when it comes to outdoor power tools because we cut grass in summer when it’s hottest and blow snow in winter when coldest… Extreme heat kills batteries.. Best battery system EGO with patented sleeve and arc lithium… what does that mean EGO batteries basically are in an ARC shape so nearly every CELL has a surface to the outside plus within the arc there is spacing between cells also.. Versus RYOBI 40v and other power tool batteries where cells are packed together and multiple cells are surrounded by batteries. Greenworks 60v/80v, kobalt, snapper, toro etc.. those batteries have spacing between the cells but also have air holes in case and the charger has a fan.. Last the EGO battery the BMS is isolated from batteries and on the side… contacts are in curve of arc. RYOBI, Dewalt, black and decker and others the BMS is right above contacts before batteries. CONTACTS connect to motor controller and in mowers the motor also… (HEAT) then you have HEAT from the batteries as they drain.. SO BMS sensitive electronics are sandwiched between the two hottest areas. LAST everyone mentions heat… I live j Arizona… simple solution gel ice pack frozen.. TOSS in spare battery area or on top of batteries sealed cool pack so no moisture and it will keep batteries cooler since motor generating heat is rising into battery compartment and batteries generating heat are in same compartment but now you have a frozen cool back absorbing heat and lowering temperatures… Some of this is made worse by the choices of colors or clear covers that all sun to heat that area.. I’ve tested and used lawnmowers from ego, greenworks, RYOBI in various battery sizes… I also repair batteries and have opened up many to look at design…

You shouldn't treat your batteries so poorly. For example, fully discharging them shortens their life and can, if you do it a few times and you'll reduce the storage capacity of the battery enough to notice. Use them until they have like 1-2 lights left on their power bar.
@ajgreen868
@ajgreen868 Жыл бұрын
That’s such a huge myth. These batteries have electronics in them that shut them off at a certain voltage. Lithium batteries have no memory. But of course you have to make sure you charge them so they don’t drop below that voltage.
