People say Thom and Jonny started the smile to have an excuse to play bass 😂, in all seriousness, this album is great, Free in the Knowledge is my personal favorite off it, but their new one is absolutely phenomenal. Be sure to also check out Thom’s solo albums! And maybe amok by atoms for peace. Love the videos as always! On a side note, hope you’re still planning on finishing arctic monkey’s discography, also anticipating Animals by Pink Floyd. Anyways have a great rest of your day and keep it up!

Agreed. WoE is like a more refined ALFAA. The latter has higher peaks, but the former is more consistent.

Beautiful reaction, Jack! I love how they've reached such mastery but retained their childlike curiosity and openness to experiment. It leaves them so free to bring us this wildly creative and ambitious music - and more of those transcendent moments (🤩 @21:57, @34:31) Thanks for sharing your passion for great music. We appreciate you!
@murraylow656410 ай бұрын
Yes Jack! Delighted you got to listen to this one. We all knew you'd like it lol. This album gets better the more you listen to it as well, Tom Skinner brings something very different to Philip Selway on the Drums and it’s amazing the difference it makes. Almost as if it's a different band...lol. It's an interesting evolution showcasing Thom and Johnnys experience in Film soundtracks, their work so far with Radiohead and mixed with the Jazz style of Tom on the drums. Interestingly, for me anyway, a lot of it linked back to Kid A/Amnesiac with the wind and string instruments. Almost as if there was an itch they still had to scratch and could do that now they have a drummer with Tom's background. In many ways the Jazzy feel on the drums gives it a warmer tone than a Radiohead album generally is. Also, somehow more chaotic!
@MM-vs2et10 ай бұрын
Some of these songs were Radiohead songs. Open The Floodgates was a song that was written during the In Rainbows era, they played it live a few times, but no official recording until this. And Skirting On The Surface was also a Radiohead song, first surfacing live during the The King of Limbs era, and was very different from what we got here.
