Is The SSPX About To Consecrate Bishops?

Is the Sspx preparing to, once again, consecrate bishops?
Rumors are circulating that the Sspx is preparing to consecrate as many as 6 new bishops.

I remember in a meeting with the present superior of the SSPX a couple of years ago, I asked him this exact question: when will we have new bishops? His answer was a bit vague, but he was very clear that the Society can never be left without bishops. That will NOT happen. All the rest is in God's hands.

Why just 6 new bishops? The need for Traditional bishops is far greater than that. Twenty five to fifty new bishops sounds more like it to me.

The existence of auxiliary bishops is a common circumstance. For a growing organization within the Church, the creation of new bishops to serve as subordinates to the bishop of a region is reasonable. Edit: All of the bishops of the SSPX are auxiliary bishops, because they do not hold authority over any particular diocese.

@@joematties7557 Nope. Bishop Schneider, Archbishop Vigano, and now Bishop Huonder have all spoken well of the SSPX over the last few years. But the SSPX has only ever had 4 bishops (and that dropped to 3 after Bishop Williamson was expelled in 2012). The SSPX has 3 active bishops, as far as I know. I'm not sure where the uploader is getting 2 from.

The “Return to Tradition” KZbin guy has said that Pope Francis has granted the SSPX to consecrate 1 BISHOP. The Superior General is supposed to submit a list, a the Pope will pick 1. The Pope has also, as has been reported by many, that the Pope has said the SSPX is NOT in Schism

" By the fruits you will know them". I attended the SSPX for about 2 years. Was harmed by the priest and some people. All i saw there was gossip, hate for Popes ( especially St John Paul II ), anger and judgment. Very little acceptance or love. Sadly. Find the reverent Novus Ordo or the FSSP. Stay away from the SSPX!

I totally agree with you. Like the sects, they are always criticising The Catholic Church and the Pope, they lack charity (for ex. "all the others will go to hell", or calling autochtones "savages" etc), and ... they rarely smile!!! Have you noticed that?

Where was your chapel? My chapel is completely the opposite. I kid you not, the pot lucks are friendly, our priest is humorous and likes to laugh. The priest before him was strict, but I grew up on an extremely goofy an irreverent parish priest, so I will admit have a weird bias in liking a strict priest. We laugh and talk after Mass, some women wear pants. Our chapel even had a poster for a Christmas concert at the nearby N.O. parish. I've dealt with as many toxic people at my territorial parish as I have at my SSPX chapel. My chapel is in Gilford, NH. Where did you attend? I only ask because if I'm ever on vacation even I would avoid what you described.

I go to sspx for more than a year and thats not at all my impression, but even if it werent thats beyond that brings people to the sspx, i go there because its the catolicism of my ancestors, the true catolic pratice, its where the transcendent is, i dont go there mainly to socialize or make friends, altough that ends up happening. I love it and have no problem with it
