Is the Star Wars theme STOLEN?!

The similarity is mind blowing!! John Williams is the film music KING though so no disrespect. It’s just interesting to hear his inspirations! Maybe I should do a separate video on his other classical music influences? Have you ever heard of the Kings Row theme tune before?

An orthepetal progression that similar could definitely have been taken as inspiration for Starwars. Keep in mind the background chord right at the beginning of that, very similar to the ending theme in New Hope with that whole bravado of mass amounts of brass chord block.

Play the final copies side by side and you intentionally messed up the old song when playing it on the piano you gave it three to four extra notes to create similar chords and notes. The final pieces sound nothing alike.

comments are forgetting that RIFFS can be stolen. if it is a notable part of the song it can be claimed as infringement to be using it for your own song. So that beginning part could very well have been the “inspiring” part for the rest of the star wars theme. I’m not saying it is but it’s definitely possible.

John Williams has stolen nearly every theme he has made including cowboys, home alone, harry potter, and many others. He is a man of inspiration.
