Is The Tamiya Grasshopper 2 A Good First Kit??

Good, honest feedback on the kit. For a first time builder almost any kit is going to trip you up a little. I have built well over 100 at this point and still overlook and goof things up so don't worry about a couple things that didn't go smoothly. The great thing is you built it, it works and you had fun with it all that will benefit you on the next build. With everything new there is a learning curve and level of awkwardness and potential for frustration. A great tip I learned and still ignore to this day is if something doesn't fit or is not going together right and you are getting frustrated just walk away from it for a while. Go grab some lunch or walk out to get the mail. Then come back and go back a step or two and just read and examine all the steps and images in the instructions. Often time with a fresh look and clearer head you will immediately see where you screwed a part on upside down or forgot to install a spacer somewhere and it makes a world of difference once fixed and you can continue on with the build after a little laughing at yourself! As alphawlff mentioned the sound was a bit low but not terrible, I just have to turn it down before the next video to not scare myself! LOL! Also I agree the Neo or Racing Fighter are great first time or maybe second kit to build and they are a blast to drive. The stickers on the Racing Fighter can be a little challenging but not terrible, planning and patience is the key with them!

Thanks Addam! I think the walking away is easier said than done lol. It sounds like the neo and racing fighters are great kits! Is it due to the ease of the build or have to do with getting extras like oil filled shocks and torque tuned?

@@BargainBashersRc they are pretty easy to build, the added upgrades are great and they can handle a lot of power. They drive much better than the older design kits like the hoppers. If you get one be careful, they sell some inexpensive ones on Amazon and eBay they are the basic kit which usually does not have an ESC, oil shocks or torque tubes motor.

Audio is low. You should have bought the Neo Fighter or the Racing Fighter for a first build.

Thanks for the feedback, I was worried it might be low. I thought hard about getting the racing fighter but had a super hornet as a kid so chose to go with a grasshopper 2. I’m hoping for a racing fighter kit soon
