As ever, another another stunningly immaculate build from you. I love what you do and really look forward to your videos. For me the build is an important and enjoyable part of the hobby, but in this day and age of 'all done for you' RTR cars it's increasingly difficult to find unusual builders kits - apart from Tamiya that is.
@MechanicAfterHours2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Nigel! I agree, I sometimes find I car I like from other brands but most are RTRs nowadays :(
@seshelbow3362 жыл бұрын
Although you are an excellent builder….and your attention to detail is second to none….there are many others with similar attention to detail, patience, and skill to produce similar results (quality wise) with a “kit build”……what really sets your builds apart is the changes you make. It’s not like you change things just so it’s different….anyone can do that….it’s the vision….you can see all these small changes needed….but also how they all compliment each other other. You only need to look at a thumbnail to want one of your creations….and watching a build only amplifies the feeling the want. Honestly the only people making “anything” in the whole world on a par with yourself is “Singer”…..you’re like the RC version….but only better because you aren’t tied to one brand or model. I’ve always thought I had good taste myself, every car I’ve built I’ve thought was tasteful….and would prefer mine to anyone else’s….but I know if I built my perfect version of any car…..and turned up at a show…..and you turned up with your version of the same car…..you’d blow me out of the water. Do you have a vision of how these RC cars will look finished? Or do you just come up with ideas as you go? Do you sketch it out or is it all in your head? Anyway, I’m very happy I came across your vids…..like I say, more into full sized cars…..but to be honest your RC builds are not only better looking, but higher quality, less BS, and basically not vanity projects. In all honesty, you should step up to a full car build…..I’m sure every one of your RC fans would follow along….and many new fans be gained. Don’t have to stop the RC stuff…..I mean being the best RC KZbin channel why would you? I’ve just decided…..I’m gonna hassle you about this until you tell me what real car build you’d love to do……I don’t wanna be a pain in the arse but to be fair it’s your fault for consistently knocking out amazing RC cars

That was a nice way to spend 45 minutes this morning, lovely to watch! Every step of your work is a joy to watch, but I have to say I am amazed what you can do with that plotter! If you ever decide to do a tutorial, that would be a good candidate. Funny, I just received a Durga body in the mail the other day, I still don't have any other parts, but sometime in the future I'll do a DB-01 build, a pretty simple one, sort of light on the upgrades. I always wanted to do a belt driven 4Wd, and this is the one I want. And of course your car is a true inspiration, very well done!

Your builds are always so awesome. I have been building RC cars since 1980 (with some big gaps in between), but none of my builds even approach your level of craftsmanship. If you ever get back into filming builds, you should consider one of the many variations of the TT-02. Yes, I know that they have been done a lot, but I’d like to see your interpretation. There are so many upgrades, hop-ups and useless bling available for the TT-02 (or TT-02B, or TT-02D, or TT-02S, or TT-02Whatever) that building a unique model is possible, even for a duffer like me.

These cars you are producing are literally incredible….your eye for detail is incredible….such subtle changes with drastic results. Do you not drive a modified car? If you do I’d love to see it! What cars are you into? I’d love to see your ideas scaled up to full sized cars. I can’t imagine someone with your eye for detail drives a boring car…..but if you do….but have an interest in cars….send me some renders for an EG6 civic or an Evo 9 and I’ll literally set up a KZbin channel to build your vision…..or if you have any real car builds in mind I’d love to hear about or see renderings of them. You have skills my friend….every one of your videos is a treat…..and I’m not even an RC fan……I can’t imagine you don’t have equally amazing ideas for real cars but obviously budget and time are massive factors in full scale builds. I know you have designs and ideas for real cars just as awesome as your RC stuff……please share…..I know it’s not just me wanting to see. 👍🏻
@MechanicAfterHours2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and the kind feedback. Hmm, I used to have modified cars (all motor to stage 3 turbo cars) but to be honest got tired, car tuning is never ending you know and the tools/parts are expensive. I do like vintage sports cars (or at least cars that are more analog) whether they are economy cars to high-end ones but they're all relatively expensive to buy and maintain especially nowadays. I really appreciate cars designed by Gandini. Then German cars like the 964 Porsche to Benz's Red Pig and SECs when modified. On the other end of the spectrum I really do like Kei cars, they're super fun to drive and cozy-had the best memories with those cars. The EG6 can be a beautiful car when properly worked on-I like hatchbacks. I did have Hondas in the past (and my favorite one was the DC2 Type R). I still have cars but also have a foldable bike for the city :)
@seshelbow3362 жыл бұрын

I started my offroad hobby with a few entry level Tamiya buggies like DF-02 and DF-03 which were easy to put together and fun, but the DB-01 platform is the best performing enthusiast chassis I have owned. Shame they retired it as hop up parts are now hard to find at a reasonable price but I have got plenty of spares. Had to modify a chassis to support square pack lipo so I'm somewhere between an R and an RR and that's as far as I can take the car. Well done for getting your hands on a RRR. Would have loved to own one but my 3 DB-01 chassis will do. PS - Any link to the tool box you send to Glen at TAMIYA Legends? It looks very functional.
