This is the "Holy Grail of Golf®" which is why I trademarked it. Dan finally gets it ... mostly. I've been teaching this for years.

I thought so. Yes. Same move and intent. My question is once you reach the point where club is parallel to the ground with hands by trail leg is the rest of the swing simply turning the body?

@@joehernandez5600 There's a bit more to it than this and Dan didn't say why he was doing it in the bunker but the thing is DON'T ACTUALLY DO THIS ON NORMAL FLAT GROUND! The club could break and bounce up and hit you. I've seen it happen (they guy I saw did it in anger and nearly lost an eye). The best ... wait, all these videos are on my website. Sooner or later everyone will be teaching the HG® swing.

I've watched most of the holy grail videos. I could be wrong but my interpretation of the HG was to throw/hammer well behind the ball. What dan is demonstrating here, is throwing the club into the dirt at the ball and it's gold. He's also probably got the only video with a title stating "the target is hurting your golf swing" he could trademark that lol.

Hey Dan: Why is the intention to sling the club towards the ball rather than down behind the right foot? This feeling (for me) is more in line with the "Holy Grail" concept and the medicine ball drill that is used to help golfers understand the correct use and sequencing of the arms. Thanks!

Once again, great perspective!

Great video Dan. Your explanation of the throwing action to target line versus target should really help the golfers true intention. Exercise was great 👍

Hi Dan, enlightening video. One question..do you hold your back to the target on the downswing?
@harleybluesbiker10 күн бұрын
Dan This is what I thought I was supposed to throwing the club out in the distance to my target. I tended to slide forward then spin out. Every thing I heard like throwing a sand bag all conditioned me. I found that throwing to the ground made my body move differently. I stay centered and I open to a place I did not know was possible.

Hi, great video. But what exactly does 'in the direction of the target line' mean..whay are you throwing at, exactly and along what plane? I think this could be the secret of the golf swing, and would really like a little more detail. Excellent video .thanks.

I think Dan cleared up a couple of things in this video. First, the goal is not to hit at the ball or throw the club out in the distance. The ball is on the line to your target out in the distance. The objective is sling the club into the ground on the line the ball is on. I think of it as pitching the ball an home plate is in the middle of my stance. This creates the proper mechanics and balance without having to thin about positions.

I have arrived at this position from a slightly different direction but the results amount to the same thing. I haven’t tried actually throwing a club into the ground, just slinging it off at the target. But when I am making a real swing my intent is to throw my hands at the ball from the inside. Results are promising. A side benefit is the creation of a motor boat effect that increases club head speed and also produces lead arm supination to square the club face without having to think about it. I will have to take a look at the Holy Grail of golf. The name intrigues me.

I have the same question and I’ll try and put it differently. Is the throw downwards at the line towards the camera or downwards parallel to the line?
