One of the reasons why they are waiting is because there is a tradition that states that the ashes where kept in 3 separate places and, when make new ones, 1/3 of the old red heifer ashes would be mixed with the new batch. They are trying to locate them and believe they are very close to finding them. As a Messianic, I think that two physical temples are enough to symbolize the gospel going first to Jews, then to all the non-Jews of the world, but then back to Jews AND non-Jews who live in Israel. The Tanakh prophesied that all those things would come to pass, and that the Diaspora Jews would return to their own Eretz Israel that G-d promised would be theirs forever. I believe that when Yeshua returns, He is bringing the New Yerushalaim with Him, and the whole city WILL BE the 3rd temple. The presence of Adonai is what makes the city holy. Meanwhile, we’re told by the apostle Sha’ul that our bodies are the temples of the Ruach HaKodesh. Whenever I think of Sukkot, I’m reminded of the temporary “shelters” of that Spirit. I am a firm believer in Christ but this is still a momentous occation, the Jewish people have been without a temple for over 2000 years and where lost for so long after the Roman’s destroyed it in 76-78 AD “I forget the date” but I hope that Israel will soon build it so I can possibly visit it. A reminder to all believers in Yeshua (Jesus)! Yeshua referred to the Temple in the end times as "the holy place" in Matthew chapter 24. And Apostle Paul referred to the end time temple in Jerusalem as "the temple of God" in 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
