I agree that the Crown XLE and Limited are GREAT cars to compare to the Camry and Venza. However, I find comparing the Crown PLATINUM to anything Toyota is incorrect. The engine specs match to that of the Lexus 500h. Now that is a fair comparison, seeing that they both have the same engine. Granted, the Lexus has more leather. The crown is almost $20k less than the L500h. You simply cant compare a Crown Platinum to a Camry. They dont match at all. I bought the Crown Platinum for many reasons. - Luxury - Power - Has tons of things my 2006 Tacoma XtraCab does not have. - Platinum has better pricing than the L500h. - It eats gas but buying gas in my area is at $2.88 a gallon and I can afford that, seeing I drive less than 500 miles a month. - It is the last car I will buy and it appears to be more directed to older people than the young at heart. I already have 4 older friends who are new to me and own Platinums too. So here is the real deal. Only one thing I may add to the crown is legal tinted windows. I love my manual drive Tacoma. But I don't think the manual on the Crown will give me the same feel as the 2006 manual Tacoma. But I am still pleased with the purchase and simply put, desired to get a vehicle opposite to what I already have which I still kept in case I wanted to drive my memmorable "Fun Time" Tacoma. Owned two Toyota Trucks for over 30 years. Toyota vehicles are built tough.
