First off... BIG THANKS for the kind words. It is fine to use port 1 and 2 for standard equipment if link aggregation is disabled (It is by default). It has 1 2.4ghz (at 1gb) and 2x 5ghz channels (at 1.2gb), lets not forget the 16gb onboard storage (Plex Server?) and the it also comes with 8 network connections rather than your 6 from your ISP. Your router doesn’t control latency though..
@KingHalbatorix5 жыл бұрын
Any router will absolutely introduce _more_ latency. Their claim is intentianally ambiguous to trick uneducated buyers, but what they mean is the router is optimized to introduce as little latency as possible. A lot of other high end or enterprise grade routers have the same optimizations, but not cheap consumer grade routers.

@Archie The Dog Hey I have the same router and I'm noticing that it's actually slowing down my speed from gigabit to 300mbps. I tested it by plugging back into my Comcast modem and noticed _way_ faster speeds than my TP-Link router. I factory reset the router and it worked just fine for a few hours and ended up slowing down to 300mbps again. Have you noticed anything wrong with yours? Support wasn't much help and I'm just wondering where the issue lies.

Does it lower ping ? For Android ?

It should yield performance gains across all types of hardware platforms.

The power of this router is dope. The tech is amazing. But the fucking aesthetics.. horrendous. Also who made the executive decision on red orangish trim? It’s fucking gross looking. I want to buy this router really bad, I do, but the looks are just keeping me from doing it and because of it I’ll probably just get a nighthawk. I can’t even hide this thing because the antenas don’t fold. It’s like made to be an eyesore you can’t fucking hide because of the footprint/antena size.

Just bought this today, compared to my D-Link Covr C1203, setting this is far beyond more simpler with the user friendly GUI. The power it emits, boy if you sit there for 10 minutes, you'd get doozy. This thing is a beast. Worth every bucks over the Asus.

Qwazyd0gg How would this compare to the AX88U vs the C5400X and which one is better?
@qwazyd0gg6 жыл бұрын
Their feature set is honestly identical as far as automated QoS, trend micro support, and more. The TP-Link has more LAN support plus 2gbps connections for NAS and "future proofing". I haven't used the Asus, but I can tell you I'm extremely impressed with the TP-Link unit.
@MrEggyman995 жыл бұрын
@@notdios3084 AX is only worth it if all your devices are compatible, otherwise just stick with AC as it's more common. (the AX88U is also Dual-band unlike the C5400X which is Tri-band)

So you’re telling me I can buy a one time fee $280 router that is 10x better than my crappy router that I have to pay for monthly?
@qwazyd0gg4 жыл бұрын
The router will provide a better experience with range and speed consistency, providing your issues are with just the router now. Replacing the router will not fix issues caused by your ISP or current internet subscription tier.
@gurqa70414 жыл бұрын
Well my main problem is that my latency goes really high when other people are using the internet so buying this router would help with that?
@qwazyd0gg4 жыл бұрын
It could. Having better throughput and more frequency bands may help direct traffic more appropriately. Worst case if it doesn't help you can just return it

That sucks man :( I can tell you I don’t get paid for reviews or even know how that would work, but I used this router for close to two years before upgrading to the newer wifi 6 version, which now is also working great for my needs.

I have this router and I have had nothing but trouble. It would slow my gigabit speeds down to 300mbps, and when I plugged back into my Comcast modem, I got 900-1gbps. I factory reset the router and it fixed it temporarily, but ended up going back down to 300mbps again. I'm never buying TP-Link ever again.
