@@naibz7439 I agree but I think phil still wanted to play, wasn’t ready to retire or mentor and the chargers were ready to move on (mutual) and he went on to having a great season with the colts. Wish he woulda came back after tho in a mentor coaching role. Still could down the road.. and while I do think Herbert has great potential and arm talent, etc that exceeds what phil had skill wise in that department, I think he is lacking some of the situational awareness in the pocket a bit. For instance,phil was great at reading/seeing/identifying defenses and certain packages and I think Herbert struggles against complex coverages the defense and secondary throws at him, right now. But he will learn more and grow more obviously. Still very young and that will come with time (I hope). Being a QB is like being in control of a chess match sometimes

I'm Chiefs fan and Herbert and Tua are both phenomenal. They're the Top 2 QBs 3 weeks into the season ahead of Mahomes and Allen (who I had as top 2 entering the season and are currently 3rd and 4th 3 weeks in)

Why compare them? Why not just watch their Greatness? I’m a chargers fan, yet I’m rooting for the health and wellness of these players and I hope they smash Records held by previous players. It’ll be over when one of the wins a superbowl. Tua is Taylor made for MMS system. And he might very well be the best WB for that position. I too wanted Burrow or Herbert over Tua. Right up till last year. If Tua finds a way to stay healthy tho, I’m sticking with #1…. He’s great for that team in multiple ways.

If you look at both games they’ve played each other they are almost dead even. Tua 38-73 for 611 4Tds Herbert 62-84 for 596 2 tds. Chargers by 7 first matchup…Fins by 2 in second game

@@naibz7439 Tua outplayed Herbert in that game when it came down to the wire. If Herbert was sooo good, he could have taken that 2 min drive and show everyone that he is the guy. He did not, and this game was the best game to judge their abilities since it's the first game of the season. No injuries, Tua wasn't in a concussion, Herbert didn't have a broken finger or rib etc. Defense were both healthy. Well the dolphins didn't have Jalen Ramsey but overall it was a fresh start to both teams with almost everyone was ready and healthy to play. This doesn't mean that Tua is better Herbert or the other way around, This just means that Tua outplayed Herbert in this game.

Flores was not incompetent, he was defensive minded you can see it in how well he coached and schemed their defense. He turned one of the worst nfl teams in recent memory to a contender, people forget that. Just sometimes every coach isnt for every player, and thats okay. The two are great in their own right.

On offense, they were okay, Tua & Fitzpatrick were able to keep them afloat. It was like the jets but with decent qb play. Like I'm a Tua fan, I got his jersey when he was drafted, but he was not winning games in spite of Flores like Watson with Bill O'Brien. Like rewatch some games, you'll see what I'm saying.
