My vacuum sealer is in constant use. As it's a front loading one it just sits on top of my microwave pushed to the back wall, so it doesn't take up any counter space and it's always available if I just need to reseal something like a bag of rice or spices. I've even used mine to seal paint brushes overnight when decorating so they don't dry out.

"I’ve been using the sous vide method for many years now, and I absolutely love it! While I have a vacuum sealer and a small sous vide machine, I’ve never had the chance to upgrade to one of these larger, professional machines mostly because of the budget. But seeing this has really inspired me to start saving up! As a carer, I prepare meals every Monday, which takes me around six hours with my current setup. With a machine like this, I could cut that time down to two or three hours, which would make such a difference. I also use a vacuum container weekly for marinating chicken wings and meats, so having a more efficient setup would be amazing. This video was really helpful and gave me some great ideas for the future. Thanks for sharing I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these someday

Thank you for that, yep it's certainly a lot faster than the small one I have. It does a lot more too. I'm going to explore the marinate function too

I'm on my 4th vacuum sealer, and if/when this one goes I will definitely replace it. First one was cheap and lasted about that. Second was user error that caused it to fail. Third one is sitting in my pantry. Hubby saw another unit on sale and bought it. I have to admit the new one was much quieter, and came with an attachment to vacuum jars and cannisters. The prices ranged from around $50 CDN to $99.99 CDN (plus tax) on sale. I love how I can buy meat on sale, portion it out and freeze in flat bags to save space. Leftovers are a snap. I had mashed potatoes with white cheddar on hand so was able to make perogies easily. Garlic mashed potatoes went into a tourtierre pie. I stuff peppers in the fall and vacuum seal them for winter meals. Some things I will even put into the bags and freeze before sealing so they don't leak out and damage the machine.

I have had a different chamber vacuum sealer for years. I am single and can take advantage of many buy one get one free and other sale opportunities. It goes hand in hand with sous vide cooking. There are options for getting bags at great savings over the none chamber type sealer required bag.

I've vacuum packed for years and I started out with something similar to the little one you showed. After all these years I've landed in a type of vacuum packer that is a small handheld unit that uses ziplock bags with a flat valve on it, much like what you showed this huge beast of a machine can do. A large bag costs about £0.30 but it can be reused time and time again. Much more cost effective than the one-use bags and also a much better formfactor than this machine as I I just stick it in a drawer.
@Adam_Garratt16 күн бұрын
Yes it's quite bulky, so I think it would be good for large families or if you're planning to do a lot of meal prep
@Kulfaangaren16 күн бұрын
@@Adam_Garratt For sure, if I was a hunter I would want one of these chamber vacs instead, the handheld is too slow.

hey mate..how does it do with liquids? that is one of the issues with most vac sealers...they end up spilling most liquid out or the leak when sealing.. Great vid--nice to mix it up from time to time...

hiya mate,I’ve had a vac sealer for more years than I can remember,had it from lidyl,there own brand(I think),silver crest,brilliant,I’ve always double sealed the bottoms,and when it’s vac’d and sealed,I seal it again,it’s got a soft feature,which is great for bloody meat,liquid’s ect,wouldn’t be without it,probably only cost about £10,paid for itself many times,,
@Gravitational23415 күн бұрын
One problem I have found with this vac sealing process is getting a good handful of my meat in the bag without touching the rim of the bag and contaminating it. Manufacturers need to invent a bag spreader so it gapes open and you can get your fist right in without worry about contamination. 😉 This product certainly proves the rule you often get what you pay for. Very nice, high price. Thanks for the review.
@Adam_Garratt15 күн бұрын
@@Gravitational234 I hate that too! I think maybe the foil type bags might be better as I suspect you can open them out and they'll stay in place whilst you fill it. More expensive though
@Gravitational23415 күн бұрын
@@Adam_Garratt a simple but genius solution to another problem (liquid contents) in another post inspired me to stop the innuendo and think hard. How about fill a sarnie bag with the meat then scrunch up the mucky end and empty it in to the bag to be vacuumed making sure the rim of the sarnie bag is deep in before doing so. Not described it well, no good when I'm not being childishly rude.

Oh, if only I could justify one of these, or even had the space to fit one in my flat. My only concern with this type of system is plastic waste. I would have thought that the bags should be recycled with the bags, etc, in the bins at an increasing number of supermarkets, but I couldn't see anything to confirm on their website. I presume that depending upon what was in before, they can be re-used as a smaller bag, but again, I saw nothing to confirm or deny.
