Its golden hour for downcountry at the mo with this, the spur and the sb115 all arriving. All the bike most people need. My lust is mostly pointed at the spur - saw one in the flesh other day, lush (not too light though...)

cracking bike! looking forward to your ride review. i've heard that like the spur, the izzo can give an xc bike a run for its money.

One ride yesterday and so far it's definitely fast, not quite in the same league as a XC bike but not far behind it at all. Climbing performance is superb especially when you firm up the rear shock, though even in open it's composed. It's a hoot on the descents :)

@David Arthur - just ride bikes Having trouble, please help: Jeffsy or Izzo? The geo, price, and specs are very similar. However for the 20% of the time that I’d like to get the bike worked out more, I’m afraid the 130 mm would hold back Please let me know your thoughts!
@davidarthur4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you need the Jeffsy then
@Jacob991744 жыл бұрын
(More for your reader’s sake, someone will benefit from this) Jeffsy 29” has 150mm travel which may take too much away from the trail, additionally the shock takes up bottle space, and bike is slightly heavier. I’ve decided to purchase the Izzo, extend the fork travel from 130mm to 140mm, and compensate the 0.5* slacked HTA/STA by keeping the flip chip in the high setting. This way can keep this nice looking frame, shorter CS, vertical shock configuration, remote lockout, and lighter weight.

For me the Izzo is a more suitable bike, better geometry for descending and having fun which is why I ride these days. The Lux is the much faster choice ideal for XC and marathon racing

@edb20704 жыл бұрын
@@davidarthur hi David,, I ride in several groups but my main one has six regulars. Between us we have about 20 bikes, mostly full suspension, six of which are relatively recent YT''s (within two years). One of my friends has a Jeffery same model as mine the frame has split in a circle around one of the bearings, he is quite lightly built and he uses the YT for singletrack, nothing crazy or high impact. He sent it off for a warranty repair they have sat on it for months, he has spent over 5 hours in calls trying to resolve it, he is constantly fobbed off and has lost an entire summers use. I am not a frame expert but he looks after his bikes properly, he is a light weight rider using the bike as intended this type of break would imply the material around the bearing cup was too thin the wear on the rest of the bike minimal. The whole experience has been very badly handled and from posts seems to be endemic at YT Europe, my understanding in the US it is totally different, I guess they don't value UK business. All five of us have followed his trouble with YT and all decided we will not buy another one. Real shame but learn from our experience..

gripshift ruins it. limited choice for upgrades.
@rolux48534 жыл бұрын
It’s not gripshift, it has the standard trigger shifter for your 1x12 on the right side of the handlebar. The left grip has a remote lockout „lever“ for your rear shock in the style of a gripshift. You can easily use traditional grips and then use the lever on the shock itself if your into uphill pedaling with a lockout platform.
