Damichael, don't underestimate him just because he was moved out of the starting lineup. He actually played more minutes than any of the starters. Portland needed to showcase Grant to generate trade interest, but it seems they've decided to move on from him. That's why Deni was brought back into the lineup, and since then, he's been averaging 16.0 - 6.6 - 3.4 with 41% 3PT and 49% overall You also mentioned he's not an elite defender, but he's excellent in perimeter 1v1, holding guards to just 29% shooting from three. He's even capable of guarding some centers when playing as a small-ball center (15% of his minutes). He's incredibly versatile. According to CraftedNBA, he's ranked as the most versatile player in the entire league (1 out of 500 players). Plus, he's one of the fastest forwards in the league. He's highly durable and rarely misses games, if not covid he played 96% of the games. Joe, the correct pronunciation is Avdi-YA. I appreciate your kind words about Deni. Honestly, I think he'd be a perfect fit in Memphis. He's already won over fans with both the Wizards and the Blazers, and he's known as a locker room glue guy. From a basketball standpoint, he'd be a major upgrade and could elevate Memphis to legitimate NBA Finals contention, at least on paper. That said, I'd love to see him stay with the Blazers for a couple more years. It's better for his growth to take on a leadership role now that he has the chance, rather than settling into a third option role in Memphis.

I like the idea of swapping Smart for Bruce Brown. The salaries somewhat match. Brown would bring proven playoff experience along with lock down defensive capabilities.
@zuluamar67918 сағат бұрын
We are almost healthy. We could use another big but GG Smart and vince will make this team elite.
@williewhite116110 сағат бұрын
I was hoping that GG Jackson would be that missing piece. Most players don't seem to want to be here in Memphis.
@candaceh1613 сағат бұрын
The Grizzlies need veteran playoff experience. How does this help with that at all?? How he will do come playoff time is just as big of a question as Jake LaRavia or GG Jackson. It's a big jump as he doesn't even contribute to winning basketball in the regular season even. Not to mention be doesn't even consistently space the floor and we NEED that

The real list: Jerami Grant(too old) Keldon Johnson(too short) Kyle Kuzma(can’t shoot) Deandre Hunter(mystery) Rui Hachimura(unavailable) Cam Johnson(expensive, injury prone?) Patrick Williams(mid) Miles Bridges(crazy) John Collins(bigman) Andrew Wiggins(ew) Michael Porter Jr(bad fit) Obi Toppin(unproven) Brandon Ingram(defense)

I actually like the idea of getting John Collins. Adds more athleticism to the team which we need. He’s a good shooter. Would fit well beside Jaren AND Ja. He’s a good shooter. My only problem is that I would prefer us to pick up another REAL center. We can’t rely on Edey in every series. We need a reliable big. I just don’t know if John Collins is that big.
@iguesss9 сағат бұрын
@@dregamingz I think the John Collins JjJ combo is enough and Edey off the bench or even starting us possible the way because of Collins not being oversized

@quebeezy71636 сағат бұрын
I think the team needs a wing or big guard that consistently create and score off the dribble especially in the mid range, gg and Jaylen are nice but their handles are shaky

All the trade talk is great but it has me thinking, do we need a wing? Why not a scoring guard(Clarkson),or a legit lob threat? This team is just so deep positional wise.

From only a playoffs point of view I think more than 1 piece is needed for a championship this year. It is not impossible but it’s a big ask to have GG and Vince Williams to be 100% what we need them to be this season. For this season a run is dependent on Ja, Jaren and Des performing like Kyrie and Luka last season in addition to the others performing their roles. Glad DaMichael brought up the Edey on Castle situation. I hope we don’t come out with that same strategy.
@dregamingz10 сағат бұрын
We’re not making a trade for a wing unless it’s a HUGE upgrade. We’re not making the trade unless it’s someone like Cam Johnson or better.

I don’t wanna trade LaRavia if we don’t have to tbh. He knows he’s a role player. He does all the little things. He just needs to realize that he is able to score. He passes up some open 3s when he’s a good shooter. Also I could’ve sworn he had some sort of touch around the basket but maybe not.
