Earlier this week a fake news poster with Michael Gandolfini, son of the late great James Gandolfini was created. The image, shows Gandolfini standing in front of a once New York skyline featuring the Twin Towers. Along with this, the image had text that read "Soprano" as the series' title and a date of January 2025. Obviously, this is totally fake but I thought I'd make a quick little video about it and analyzing the image and possibilities of a potential Sopranos prequel series if there ever were to be a such thing.

It would be very difficult to find a great cast and give each actor an amazing and unique character like in the Sopranos. And nowadays it would be even harder to find great writers to pull that off. We should get this or something along the same lines. I enjoyed Many Saints very much, but almost every criticism of it in my view, stems from the fact that there was no way of exploring everything our fandom wanted in a Film's run time. I am certain that if we get a prequel series the movie could be redefined as a very good pilot. Just give us it. There's so many stories we know about and want to see properly and there's so much that could be added to the Sopranos Legacy.. Personally , I would really like to see a Young rising star Tony befriending a young Johnny Sack as he gets his ticket punched too. Show Tony bonding with Chrissy and taking on the dad role with Dickie. Michael is terrific and not just because he is the spitting image of his late great father and I really like all of the younger cast in comparison to their older counterparts. So much potential. Give it a chance

Dickie wasn't Tony's mentor he was more like a big brother. Tony doesn't have any stories involving himself or Dickie. Paulie was with him when he did his 1st hit, Sil and Jackie when he took down the card game. Dickie was long gone before Tony went bad.

Even though MSON was created the Sopranos universe can still be fixed. Season 1 picks up from where Saints left off with Dickies passing. Young Tony starts getting involved in the life. They can show more of what happened back in the day between Johnny Soprano & Uncle Junior. They can show how Blundetto got locked up, Feechs card game etc... we can learn more about old man Baccalieri or the music business and hesh. Young Johnny Sac. This could go in soo many directions. Atleast 5 seasons.

I think it’s fake. If it was real, I can’t see why David Chase wouldn’t be promoting the hell out of it by now. But to the description of this show’s credit, Paulie did oversee Tony when he made his bones with the bookie. So I could believe Paulie to be one of his mentor like figures. Also, Dickie died before Tony even became an associate. And the movie made Tony even older when Dickie did die because Chris was still a baby when it happened and there wasn’t as big of an age gap between Tony and Chris in the show.

David Chase has said that there's nothing else planned. He said it on the Talking Sopranos podcast interview with Schiripa and Imperioli. Might not always be the case, and I'd be there with bells on and a bucket of popcorn, but I'm not holding my breath on this.

First of all, the photo is of Michael way before they shot the movie "Many Saints". So, if they went into production, he'll be much older looking. Why would they use a photo of Michael years ago, when they could have used a post-production photo. 2nd, the shot is of the Manhattan skyline, as seen from the NJ shore. So, it is accurate in its angle, but too close to Manhattan. 3rd, the typeface is inaccurate. It's not the original bold type. It appears elongated, and in all caps. The original was capital S and the rest in lower case. If in fact, these are artistic changes, they've made some egregious errors. Veering away from the original artwork. It's spelled 'Soprano' singular, no gun in logotype, and odd-looking elongated design. These changes detract from the original artwork. Total fail.
