Why didn't you play Noddy instead of the Frigatebird? You could, at the same time, get both the fishery and bird counter bonus.

With that starting hand, starting with a cherry/nectar, house finch + 3 extra cards can be a super strong start. House finch turn one, then start filtering your cards while taking food. In this case, it would've given you the proper tempo to House finch take food Bronze cuckoo take food Ibis profit

Yeah, I like more cards in the starting hand with something like a tuck / draw in Forest - especially when your bird is so cheap to play.

In general I think pink power cards are underpowered in 1v1 play - don't get trapped playing too many and don't be too deep is one 'style'.
