It will take a good edge, and a para-cord wrap on the handle will improve comfort of use greatly. I have one I bought several years ago and it has been a great secondary knife in my rotation.

Great review. Sometimes that premium chineesium steel works out for those budget knives.

I have the kabar 1117 neck knife, it works great as a secondary blade for quick jobs. I wear it when im out ina t-shirt and shorts.

I would just rather have a Mora Robust, better steel, and a really comfortable handle, which comes wicked sharp about the same price, plus a true scandi grind. It's my favorite cheap knife by far! Got some custom kydex sheaths for them and filed the spine to 90 degrees with a diamond file to make them "perfect".

Hello SOP, love your videos. I purchased this knife just because I like the idea of having a mini Becker to go along with all of the others. I think my favorite is the Becker BK18. I wrapped the handle with paracord, gave it a stropping, and now it's a very sharp little knife. Use it for all kinds of little tasks. I was watching one of your videos on the Old Timer Mountain Lion and when you gave the specs for it, you said and for those of you who don't have a flag on the moon...Well never heard that before and had a really good laugh . I gonna have to borrow that. thanks. Joe B NJ

I bet you could handle that pretty easily with Chicago screws and some good Hickory wood.

Glad to see you’re doing a knife reviews Brian. Can’t live in the past but I do miss your Schrade knife reviews. Not a fan of pertaining but I could see where that could come in handy. Do all of my camping in the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York in the wood is always wet. Don’t backpack any longer too old so I always have a hatchet or ax with me. Appreciate the video don’t care where the knives are made. I respect your reviews. Stay safe my friend.

I love me some Fatwood and KBAR knives too (I have the 5011 fighting/utility knife & 1249 Kukri Machete). However, the only way that I would consider a neck knife as a survival knife is if it was the only thing that I had available. Heck, at that point, I guess a butter knife becomes a survival knife as well.

i would be worried about the handle breaking. which is why i like the cheap Moraknife offering was 10 dollars when i got a few of them, prolly more now with inflation. only downside to mora is the scandi grind is a pain to sharpen.

Maybe the sheath is made to cover the handle when in use.

Looks good but I've got to at least Paracord wrap handle for comfort and grip. I thought about this model but ended up with an esee ciradu but the beauty of this knife is it's so cheap Ive got to try.

Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this informative video. A paracord handle might be a good option for that knife. Stay safe out there. 🤗

Yup. Mod that thing. Grieves my heart to see the KBAR , let alone Ethan Beckers name on a knife not made in the US, but hey lets face it, they ALL do it now, they just may not be honest enough to tell you. Couple of thin slabs of micarta or wood , g10 liners, fasteners and shop time and you spend more money on the "project" than they did😂 Great video. Give you a handful of 1/4 inch 5160 spikes, sharpened at both ends, that would be fun to watch you throw😂😂
