I don’t know why people don’t want to acknowledge this guy. If he says he is indigenous then that’s who he is . The Caribs in Arima and Lopinot are not the only indigenous people. My ancestors were Caribs and I am as black as Eric but I am still indigenous. It is what it is.
@JosanSiloett5 ай бұрын
I think the problem is he is too familiar and ordinary. Perhaps if he was like the Europeans, they would appreciate him. Trinidadian love others more than they love their own local people. It is probably a caribbean thing, not for all but some.

I am not indigenous (and recognise Carib ancestry as still existant esp in places like the Santa Rosa and Paramin communities) but as a Trinidad I have never heard of this guy Erik with all due respect to him. This man does not represent Indigenous people of Trinidad and Tobago. Please stop promoting this falsehood. Indigenous people recognise no princes, kings, kingdoms - all these are terms and titles of colonialism and the colonised, Indigenous belief systems do not support or promote what Eric does. Anyone can call themselves anything, it does not make it so, Official court proceeding were filed against Eric for trying to hold a ceremony to crown himself Chief or king or whatever else he fancies, and he was stopped and banned Officially from doing so. Indigenous people of Trinidad are not aligned with Eric or the Catholic or any other church. It is so unfortunate that because one man sees a place where he can claim power or authority for himself results in the further desecration of a people and our culture. I really wish these vloggers would do more research into Indigenous cultures of the Caribbean before promoting this foolishness.
@JosanSiloett5 ай бұрын
He repeatedly represents his people of Trinidad and Tobago in the most memorable way that no one else is doing. Trinidad is a small world with only a minority of people who identify with indigenous heritage. Very good that he identify with his indigenous heritage and has been doing well for his ancestors and his people. Everyone has a great purpose for their existence, and he is truly into what he is doing and living. Why don't you all work out your differences and find grounds to work on the Indigenous community. 😢😢 All the unnecessary drama 😮
@JosanSiloett5 ай бұрын
Did you do your research on the coronation ceremony? The court ruling is not valid and was a Facebook Court. More-or-less a fake Court. How gullible are you to believe everything that you read in mainstream media. Your comments condem also the other indigenous groups in Trinidad, Mexico, Venezuela and other parts of the world who a way more indigenous that any of the Trinidads and they are most Catholic. Their ceremonies begins not in the Church but at the Basilica Church in Mexico.
