Motty speaks about how, when people are going through very hard times, others often call them and say something like, “I’m with you” or “I’m here for you,” but this doesn’t really help. I know a story of a good friend who entered a very difficult chapter in his life, and he told me that, despite everything he was going through, the thing that bothered him the most was when someone he barely respected or didn’t think he needed help from would call him and say, “Hello, my friend. How are you? I’m here for whatever you need.” He said that this kind of phone call hurt him more than anything else.
