I think that any form of check to the plant throughout its life will show itself in some manner during its growing cycle john iam surprised they never went to seed though. So i suppose somthing learned, a check may not always result in a seed head there is other efects which can happen.

I totally agree Billy. Most problems with leeks can be avoided and more than likely self inflicted .
