Hello, Thank a lot White Sea Studio for this video that will help us improve ourselves: -Turning the Mix Knob down would help you get some Attack back (crackles heared on the delta signal result mainly from the transient shape alteration). -Processing a Kick track with Plutonium (Drums/808 mode) and Target a specific Body part with the Right panel could be a really good starting point to understand how Plutonium works. -Toggling the Preset buttons sends effect to all of the body parts at Different Intensity so as to cause various Feelings to the Listeners. -Use 3 Plutonium or PlutoniumXtra plugins on a track, play with the Presets and the Generator Options would be a really good way to get nice results. Plutonium is just an other tool for us to make the Music sound better, no pretention to control Human brain or else from us. Our Plugins are Noise Generators that only could be Felt wich could indeed be categorized as Psycho-acoustic effects, nothing else. Thanks again for the video, we are big fans here that means a lot! @0v1.Records I‘m very interested in how did you came on such thing of plugin. It seems a little bit spiritual to me with the 7 Chakras design. What is really going on inside. WSS only showed the aggressive and sensual “preset“, whats the difference between that and hypnotic or protective? Is there something binaural going on in there, maybe some different frequencies left and right if I read Delta... thx for your answer!

I feel like this is similar to Apple playing certain frequencies to cancel out surrounding noise with the AirPods. It creates an illusion that’s the track is moving or has more energy. We may be immune to cracking noise in music because we came from a very black and white picture, record player, radio signal era. That’s what I think at least!

I think I'm right there with you, I heard the difference and I find myself deeply conflicted; when the effect built up compared to being bypassed I liked the effected audio more. But I completely agree with the statement that I don't like not really knowing what it's doing. And I'm equal parts terrified of and intrigued by the thought of doing a whole mix with this on my mains.

I could definitely hear an openness and depth coming from the sensual preset. It didn't sound like it was widening everything in the track but almost like a selective openness to certain aspects of the track. I could also hear some kind of not exactly scooped mid sounding thing but more of just a clarity enhancement in the mids while cleaning up some of the boxyness as well.

Should've called this the Chakra plugin lol. It's adding different mixtures of frequencies that will resonate in different parts of your body and correlate to the "feelings" or emotions you are going for. As snake oil as this may seem, this type of psychoacoustic thing has tons of potential. If anything use it just for subtle character.

I experienced some dulness in the mix when you hit the bypass, a very slight but significant change as after any noise is turnt off, our ears become more clear to hear stuff. So I guess they really made a psycho-acoustic plugin, but a long way to go! I won't prefer it as we get scared of the unknown things.

on the longer test i hear a clear difference, it does liven and punch everything up a little. I guess the clicks etc enhance transients in certain frequency ranges, and there was bass stuff going on. it's interesting, needs further testing.

My experience with these plugins is that its more so for adding a final "flavor" for something, and its completely subjective, the average listener would never hear a difference. The effects are definitely there whether its making stuff warmer or messing with the stereo image in a weird way but its all very minute and tricky to really hear in the mix, not something for mixers who want to know EXACTLY what a plugin is doing to their sound, but definitely has its place for that small group of experimenters.

You're right. Tik Tok and many other companies do take advantage of the natural laws which that determine human behavior. There are many techniques that are used to influence people so that they will be more likely to comply and say, "Yes! More TikTok please!" At the end of the day, all these strategies and techniques are related to learning. They take advantage of classical conditioning, which involves reflexive responses (these are the things we have learned to do in an "automatic" sort of way. It's when we quickly respond without giving much thought to our response). A simple way to take advantage of this is by constantly presenting two things together. We can't help but learn that they are associated if they are always being paired together. And they take advantage of operant conditioning. Which has more to do with responses that most people would describe as "voluntary". We will do more of something if we know that it will please us, or if there is some kind of incentive available. But how much a thing pleases us and/or how valuable it is to us is very dynamic. We get tired of things and move on to seek other things. TikTok addresses this in a brilliant way by keeping the length of the videos on the app very short. And there is 0 effort needed to watch more videos. You could literally just sit there and let one video play after another without moving a muscle. KZbin is similar, but TikTok is at an advantage because the videos are consistently short in length. This guarantees that a viewer will be exposed to many videos in a short period of time. You know, like crack cocaine. Even if not every video is a hit, it doesn't matter. The fact that not every video is going to be interesting to someone is actually the very reason that it's so hard to just put the phone down and go do something else. It's actually a lot like gambling at a slot machine.

interesting approach. I always think it's great when someone tries to transfer making music into the present. Beginners often can't do anything with old school buttons. Today's music makers have no clue about old techniques that involved turning knobs. They use iPads today and no longer have to turn knobs. Today's beginners have a visual reference. As a plugin developer, you should take this into account.

To me it sounded like reverbs got a big louder in the low mids and treble as if boosted by upwards compression. and when he bypassed the last time it sounded more dry and unpolished. its really weird considering what i heard when i used the delta mode. but its like its lifts the stuff between the transients but with a gated effect to it so it only brings out some snappy stuff in there when hearing the delta.

It's subtle , but at the same time it's not. It sounds fuller and warmer with it on. Less thin. Certainly do prefer it if i listen to this. It feels a bit like a subtle rms compression but in a total diffrent way cant realy put my finger on it. So how does this work exactly? it uses the music and makes noise maps out of the most prominent dynamic frequencies? to support and add to it? I'm so confused looking at what it does and then not hearing that same effect back when the music is turned back on.

Tiktok works based off behaviorism. The robot voice cuts through because your brain anticipates a quick payoff to follow it (the satisfying video). This is classical conditioning, like Pavlov’s dog which salivates to a bell in anticipation of food. If you’re pre occupied with audio mixing then this easily could seem specially enhanced but the only audio “trick” is loudness.

Omg i heard it clearly, and thats on a cheap pair of earbuds, which i don't use for critical listening. It's clearly noise and whatever, but the result to me is that mainstream chart radio sheen, fuller, almost like that effect of radio compression (without the compression). It's a bit like the difference between an amateur EDM production and a pro, where the pro layers some background noise and it gives the impression of substance to the whole presentation. I mean, if that's the sound you want, this would be good, except, what happens if it's played on radio and processed or what happens to it after streaming compression. Needs to be tested. For other styles, i would probably not want this effect, especially when wanting clarity and darker mixes.

During the Deeper Test, after the plugin was bypassed, I briefly heard a difference between the stereo image as if there was a slight "phase excitation" difference between the two channels and so once the plugin was bypassed that "excitation" interference passed and I was hearing the regular stereo image once again. So I *think* that what I'm hearing is an audio equivalent to putting too much hot sauce on my food. There is a burst of irritation because HOT! and then when it calms down, it goes back to a normal and pleasant baseline. So my sense is that some kind of phase or interference issue is going on that's mildly distressing and you don't realize you're agitated by it until it stops. In other words, for my own preferences, if I can only tell the difference after I turn it off, it's probably best not to turn it on at all.

I think the psychoacoustic effect is mostly caused by the chakra visual GUI thing. It makes you feel things because it shows you a body and compels you to put attention in your own body. The same for the sensation things. If it says sensual we are triggered to pay attention to the sensuality side inside us. It would need real blind test experiences to give it credit or not. But it smells snake oil so hard for me I won't have the courage to do it. I personally was more happy (relieved) and felt more clarity and depth when it bypassed
@codgerfiasco

I think people need to be careful of what order the test was done. If we had a minute of bypass followed by it being activated you might feel differently. The ear likes what it is used to. That's why new headphones often sound odd. EQ changes are subject to the same issue. Called 'the circle of confusion'.

Airwindows recreated this Effect from Maat i think. Its Noise somehow added in the same "Envelope" like the original Audio. Imho, it makes the sound "apperant" or "sperical" or "airy" , also a bit round. Those are the posive Aspects. On the negative Side, it makes the sound wishy washy, unclear, and too round. I would use this predominantly on Melodic or highpitched Instruments, Keys, Guitar, Cymbals.. in order to keep the precision and punch of say a Kickdrum

You can hear the difference...You are not going crazy...It is subtle...Keep your mind and options open...There are plethora of options in today's audio technology and engineering. Also, it does not cause phase cancellation. It is psychoacoustic. I can not recall the previous video at which you waited until towards the end to announce what it was, yet that plugin is similar minus the bells and whistles (options) this plugin provides. I can use this exclusively within my toolbox. You should have tested using an 808 and/or Drum Bus. We both know when sub frequencies are at a level which is impactful, it affects women within their private parts and surrounding areas, whereas for men, it hits us at our chests (pectoral area). The previous video creates basic white noise, whereas this one has more elements where it also manifests prickly sounds from the transients. It would be interesting when combining Mastering with Aggressive. Eventually, this plugin will be a game changer from the usual saturation/harmonic distortion. This plugin is the future, and more with appear in the days, months, and years to come.

Hey, I’m afraid there is a misunderstanding here about the meaning of the term “psychoacoustic”. Psychoacoustics is the scientific name for sound cognition, basically everything that happens in our brain after the (raw) sound sensory data is received from the ears. Things like the Haas effect (spatial hearing), harmonics and ground note deduction, recognizing sounds as individual objects etc. Now, the MAAT plug-in could be a psychoacoustic trick, akin to noise shaping/dithering where the idea is that adding noise to a signal actually adds to all frequencies that are in there thus making it easier for our brain to interpret. However, Chakra frequencies, “sensuality” etc as advertised in this particular plugin go beyond the realm of psychoacoustics, towards the spiritual. Could be valuable for those who believe in that, but should (I think) be called by its name..

It sounds like it's adding depth to the mix. This may be one of those Mastering little secret plugins Engineers use to create that 3D effect in their masters.

The GUI looks like a late 90’s computer game menu screen, or even like a website from that era. Later in the demo, the audio sounds a bit harsh the plugin doesn’t sound particularly pleasant to me. I do like the use of purple and black in UI’s colour scheme though.

I guess it's because different parts of the body vibrate at different frequencies?? But I am generally suspicious of anything that pictures chakra and costs over $100

I kept my eyes closed through the listening test, noted where I thought I heard it switched to bypass for the first time, then went back to check and it was exactly where I thought it was. So it's not completely inaudible, but 120 euros? Nope. Especially because I preferred the way the mix sounded without it.

apulSoft "apUnmask" plugin do a similar thing: program correlated noise. But its more a serious and customizable plugin than this new "magic" stuff u find around now (like the deFi thing from MAAT, etc)...-- Sometimes can fill the gaps on an 'empty' sounding mix, and works in a very musical way instead of adding the very typical hiss noise from tape emulators, etc. And i repeat, apUnmask is a serious thing, not a phsycho-snake_oil stuff like the others: as it well explains, its algorithm is based on the OPUS compression codec and do the opposite thing, trying to recover the stripped-out music chunks from the encoding process. Kinda 'de-emphasis' thing but with noise, like 'de-(lossy)compress'. Thing is: you can use it for wtv program u want, not necessarily ex-lossy encoded music. I really like it.

Making you think you hear something, by just pointing it out, while it's not even there, is also a form of Psychoacoustics. So in the end, it makes no sense. If people talk about itchy stuff, people start scratching....

I don't know. A -55dB of added 'something' doesn't seem like something I want to spend my time on when I'm producing/mixing. To be honest I didn't hear what it was adding outside of the (probably very boosted) delta signal. And does KZbin or other lossy compression still play nice with -55dB stuff like this? I mean I'd expect -55dB stuff like this to be pretty much inaudible in typical pop mix anyway, so I'd expect lossy audio compression to not even attempt to spend bandwidth to keep this in tact. Not saying it's bullshit, psycho-acoustics are obviously a real phenomenon. But I personally wouldn't spend time on it. Maybe I'd pay someone to add this stuff for me if it actually adds value (and that's a big "if").
