Far south coast of NSW. As for the river, I adopt a line from the US military on that one: "Don't ask, don't tell." ;)

So Starlo, what one do you recommend for just north of Sydney [ Brisbane waters ]. Very fair experiment you've shown here too.

I’ve been experimenting with the fish bites a lot since they first started being distributed locally. I feel like I did way better over winter and I’m not having much luck in summer. Echoing your video- a lot of noncommittal bites. I always keep one or two packs ready to go though
@StarloGetsReelАй бұрын
@@mr6368u yes, learning all the time with this stuff. I’ve had some red hot sessions on it, but also the odd fail.

Enjoyed Starlo. I think live bait wins most times although I caught a couple of nice blue salmon on fresh frozen mullet I vacuum sealed a few weeks ago. Heading for a beach fish tomorrow. The tide charts I go off say it’s an ordinary day for fishing but that’s when I have caught 1 metre fish?🐠 🐠🐠

Interesting that the pink nippers work on Luderick, might have to get the old pump out and have a squiz at a few of their southern siblings.
@StarloGetsReelАй бұрын
Yes they are quite keen on them… worms (squirt and blood) even more so.
@davidfoale205Ай бұрын
@StarloGetsReel that'll be the plan then. I know of a similar flat to what you're fishing on here thats not too far from where we were in January that holds a healthy population of blackfish. I'll give it a whirl.
@keithprinn720Ай бұрын
like you can pump yabbies and squirties but beach worms different story lol like you hate the number of small bream and especially red bream on bait. caught luderick on weed, prawns, squirties, blood worms and soft plastics never on nippers though. great video having an alternative beach bait to cut baits and beach worms necessary so often.
@StarloGetsReelАй бұрын
Oh, I SO wish someone would invent a beach worm pump! Or maybe an electrode you push into the sand that makes them leap out!?!

Hi Steve, i hate bait fishing for the same reason, have you ever experimented trying a small semi circle hook with yabbies?.
@StarloGetsReelАй бұрын
@@alleycat8483 yep, they work. I just can’t break the habit of striking! Need to basically let the fish hook itself on circles. I need to use them more.
@mudgut69Ай бұрын
@@StarloGetsReelI don’t find circles work well with nippers. The bait is just too soft. Any other bait is fine.

Gday Starlo. I reckon if you only had the fish bites out you would have done better on them. I think most fish will take a Bass Yabby befor anything else.

I think it just proves our classic Aussie Estuary bread and butter fish not as dumb as those reef fish you fooled with the Fish Bites. Those bloody low brow reefies!😅
