To me the sweet spot for Connor would have been a 32er. Obviously, though it's finding the wheels or getting them built... and even more so finding tyres. But, for shock and awe value, and to see how much Connor loves El Alto.... BRILLIANT!

El Alto is a beast! The wheel size matches the rider. We recently got a full custom steel frame gravel bike for my 4 ft 10 inch wife from Rodriguez custom cycles in Seattle. It's 26x2.1 inch wheels, thru axles, SRAM apex 10-42t, 38t absolute black oval chainring, KS external dropper post integrated into the left shifter, it's awesome. Don't remember the geo off the top of my head but it's super tiny. Fits the rider.

If a bike can handle Paris-Roubaix, it should be able to handle this. However, many manufacturers state weight limits and maximum drop or jump heights for their carbon frames. No joke!

Measure one, 700x23 is 26.25”. The road bike industry needs to adopt a 686mm rim. (The 32” existing size) With a 32mm tire it would measure 29.25”. Perfect for bigger riders or a road conversion for mountain bikes.

I always think wheel size should be proportional to the frame size proportional to the rider size. The 700C is too big or too small for some. UCI should let different wheel size be used

Skyscraping rider on mammoth steel bike with 1x drive and uni-wheels hangs on a race with a top flight performance machine...and rides down stairs. If this isn't proof that we're all (esp. Connor) being sold the wrong bikes, then I don't know what is. I like how you've had fender mounts installed on the frame. A bit market forward thinking there. I'm thinking custom Japanese steel. Have it bronzed to match the hubs/cranks and maybe some green flare on the tips. Would look marvelous.

36 inch (and more recently, 32 inch) are common sizes for unicycles. I've owned three 36 inch unis and have covered substantial distances on them. I would have thought the handling of such a big front wheel on a bike would be rather slow. What Hank needs is a Moulton space frame upsized for 700c wheels. :)

@@laszlozoltan5021 My personal best was just over 50 Km on the road without a dismount (deliberate or accidental). However, people I used to know did Lands Emd to John o'Groats (entire length of mainland Britain (around 900 miles) a few years ago.

@@luukrutten1295 The original Coker button tread 36 inch tyre was designed for vintage vehicles, then repurposed for the first commercially available 36" unicycle. Coker also used to make a 36 inch tyred beach cruiser bike back in the 1990s.

El Alto is a lot more professional looking than the "tall bikes" I've seen in places like Key West and Miami Beach, where they weld two frames together. Still, it would be good fun to see Conor have a go on one of those.

Imagine this as a readily available carbon race bike where tall racing folks can just order 1 any time. Maybe 36 is too much though. There needs to be a 33 incher. Always the best from presenting from Hank and Conor. I see the bike has it’s own theme song
