I had never ridden Curly's because of the fact it's only 3 miles of downhill that requires about 9 miles of climbing, though some of that is on a very gradual grade on Baker Creek Road. Compared to so many other trails in the Sun Valley area that are more equal in mileage of climbing versus descending, it just didn't seem like it was going to be worth the effort. But on Labor Day this year I decided to give it a go!

The end of it looked steep.

Yes, it is! I was riding brakes that whole section. Most of the elevation loss is in the final 3/4 mile.

Haha, I know, right? Being all forest road, it's pretty smooth and steady, so it's not bad, but just way too many miles of it for such a short downhill! I want a more equal ratio. That's why I like out & backs, it's perfectly even!
