If you had to compare this to the BirdBuddy Pro Solar, which one would you recommend and why? Is there a noticeable difference in picture and video quality between the two?

You should erect a couple 7 ft. 4x4 pressure treated posts in your backyard to have a sturdy place to mount these smart bird feeders you've been testing. You could maybe mount a pair of smart feeders on each post. Looks like a strong breeze could topple the whole thing! Just a thought. Interesting feeder though. Looks like something from the Jetsons!

I live in a very rainy clinate. It looks like the hood does not keep the bird food area dry. Is that true? Or does it cover it enough?

Derek, good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Nowadays with these solar panel bird feeders seem to indicate that these feeders must be placed where direct and continuous sunlight is a must as opposed to fitting it against a tree 🌳, right ? But then, in the United States where places tend to snow ❄️ in the winter 🥶 wouldn’t be of much use……..🤔🤔🤔Just curious.

@@markshen3280 yes! Or you have to run the solar panel to somewhere more sunny. In the winter it can be overcast for multiple days and then sometimes you have to bring them in and charge them or plug them into a continuous power source

Thank you 🙏 for your feedback. Just wondering….., but as I had mentioned to you in the past when you first introduced a bird feeder, Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR laws and regulations prohibits the use of bird feeders due to environmental hygiene to the public, as Hong Kong 🇭🇰 housing are all built upwards ( apartments) so it would be inconvenient for residents below to have bird droppings onto their balconies.

The main thing stopping me from buying any of these are complaints about the apps. Some say that they don't necessarily show pics of the birds at your feeders specifically, some apps are supposedly not great quality (even though 2k is not bad), etc. I can deal with the incorrect identifications though since I have other apps for that. I also find the mounting to be an issue based on where I live (an HOA so I can't make it too tall) and the stray cats that come through my yard. I don't see a lot of options to hang many of them other than the Bird Buddy, but that one has the most app complaints so here I am again.

I think they should go all the way with it and make modular bird bed n breakfast with bird shower area and vanity posing area, private preening room, etc And if it rotated it could be like the Space Needle restaurant.

@@BadgerlandBirding no definitely no TSA for birds. In real life, when a bird bombs, its not usually sinister, fatal, and everything doesnt collapse. If you love birds, vote NO! on prop Bird TSA!! This has been an unpaid public service announcement for Plflllhhh on Prop BTSA.

Derek, there isn’t any open parks that allow any sort of bird feeder due to hygiene and environmental standards. It’s Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR Government Rule of Law. As for nature reserves, there is one called Mai Po Bird Reserve in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, but booking in advance with group for educational purposes, but Individual entry is forbidden 🚫 .

I thought December , anywhere bordering Canada, should be treated like space walks, but I have never lived above the Mason- Dixon Line so I might be a bit off the mark l.
