I took this thing into my first NG+ and man it was some of the most fun I've had in any run so far. > Highest base physical AR on a katana > Good scaling considering that base damage > Insane range (losing out just slightly to the Nagakiba is still very good considering how long that thing is) > Katana moveset is just nice > Waterfowl is a death sentence to low poise enemies > Not many enemies very heavily resist physical (slash & pierce afaik) damage so it never really gets hard countered by bosses > The actual model and its AOW are stylish as hell (+ no stupidly long sheathe clipping into the floor *AHEM* nagakiba) It's a super fun weapon I'd highly recommend it if anybody is bored and looking to play through the game again. Not broken by any means bc you can't just rely on waterfowl dance but if you time it right and can even just do the 1st and 2nd parts it can dump damage onto anything on a consecutive attack setup. I still use it while co-op summoning. I think what really sold it is that you get that base damage without relying on consumables or other weapon buffs so you don't need to keep re-applying them. It would still be very nice to apply buffs to it but honestly it probably would've just been a bit too powerful that way. Probably going to be my first weapon going into the DLC too lol.

There are few unique physical weapons in the game, even compared to Dark souls 3. Most of the unique weapons are focused on magical stats, or have magical weapon art. Being the best dex weapon in this game is not difficult due to the weak competition, sadly. I lack a weapon art like a Gael's Greatsword.

I feel like they kinda played it safe with the base game and weapons overall, with Elden Ring being a new IP. If anything, I hope the DLC strays from that and adds some original and fresh stuff, even more so than DS3 or Bloodorne’s dlcs did. The Radahn’s swords are nowhere near DS3’s paired UGS.

priblem w hand is the easypeasy knockdown that high poise enemies do to you at the start of the wa 😔 otherwise damage is spectacular 💯

I think they increased the poise with waterfowl in the latest patch so its easier to pull off now

@@doriangray1935 6 months later and I think they did. When I use it I rarely get knocked down. Only when the enemy is wielding a heavy weapon or uses a generally very high poise damaging attack

@Cellthegamer Now I feel stupid lol. I just beat malenia last night after a year and a half of struggling with her and got her sword. Tried some waterfowl to reach some spots and mine was just doing the minimum. And watching everybody else I noticed I wasn't getting the full combo! How do the expect people to know these things? Like, who is going around smacking all these invisible walls? Hiw were we suppose to ever figure out some of this stuff lol. Thx

me personally since im ass i use dragoncrest greatshield instead of ritual sword, and no howl, still one full aow will do about 9,000 damage, can’t complain
