GuyRyS, the stickman, is IRyS' first attempt at making a mascot/representation of her chat. Yes, she's not very good at drawing. But she's a beast with a mic. The cat like creatures are Bloom and Gloom - they were created by Sana (part of Council), shortly before she graduated. It was a parting gift.

A little story here: No, IRyS is not that old. However, she fell in love with Eurobeat when another member of Hololive, Ina, that loves classic anime, introduced her to Initial D and IRyS just loved the soundtrack. Fast forward a couple of years and now we have Carbonated Love.

IRyS mentioned that she hadn't really known the Eurobeat genre until recently when chat recommended watching Initial D, but since perms for singing Eurobeat in karaoke is a bit difficult, we suggested making her own during her 1.0 about 2 years ago or so. I hope you listen to her other songs someday too!

Hi, here's an IRyStocrat (Irys' fandom name), here's a little bit of context on why she made a Eurobeat, she started watching Initial D because of Ina's recommendation and Irys fell in love with Eurobeat. She started doing covers of some Eurobeats in her unarchived karaokes, but later her agency told her to stop due to copyright issues, so she had to refrain from singing Eurobeat, but then a petition started in the fandom to make her own, it took like 2 years but she finally did it.

So Japan in the 90's had this pretty popular street racing subculture going on. While it died in the 2000's there are a few bits of media that really do well showing it off. Although it might romanticize it just a tad.. Initial D was certainly one of them. So was the PS1 game Racing Lagoon. Both are worth checking out.

Carbonated Love is much older than the Great Debate. It was a joke in a stream over 2 years ago or so with people suggesting titles because at that time she wanted to try writing her own lyrics for a eurobeat song (She came up with Carbonated Love herself though), and end of last year she was reminded of it. IRyS's love of soda is well-documented, too.

A good idea for videos is to make a playlist where you learn about Hololive. You can get someone who understands the generations well and explain them to you firsthand, and then go through each member and learn about their history and everything. You can make a video learning about each member and if you have any questions, your chat can explain it or you can leave it in the comments on KZbin. If you get someone who knows Hololive well, they can separate videos for you to watch and explain the history and why and everything... I think that would be a very interesting playlist.

Given the kind of love song this is, I wouldn't normally want to listen to this. The saving grace is it being Eurobeat as I like that sound so much. If the lyrics were more like something such as "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" or "Human Touch" I would be more inclined to listening to it. I'm definitely a person who prefers things to be more direct and/or literal.

@@chelzorthedestroyer Not this particular variety, but instead ones that are more direct. If you listen to "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" you will find it's got a lack of metaphors. And the song "Human Touch", which was used as the ending for Gundam X, is much more direct in it's meaning.

This has resulted in me being bitter about the topic, something that isn't exactly a surprise.
