The smiley faces in the cockpit are there because Seb used to put a smiley sticker on his car for every win he got during the season in his junior carreer. Back then he did it on the outside of the car but i don't know whether he did it in F1, but would make sense and be really cool, if he did that, it would have been on the inside of the cockpit like in the game

@kwl189Ай бұрын
@@kantina4765 Those days were absolutely better than the show is today. Cars were way nimbler, brutal to handle etc. Today’s cars have to be babied around because of the tyres and how big and heavy they are now to recover from slips. The only difference is access and marketing in favour of today. We see way more of the show on television and press are far more intrusive with more access as standard. I’m not sure how well Walker, Hunt and co would do with the sheer amount of data in the game today. I remember when we would get estimates of how many laps of fuel were put in the car and thinking, some of the mystery has been taken away because before you didn’t know so had to stick around to find out at the end of the race to see who was going to come out on top. Now, I don’t bother to watch the races because there’s so much data, it’s easy by FP2/FP3ish to work out the pecking order bar any exceptional circumstance.

Hey Jimmy, I just want to say thanks for the awesome content as usual. You were definitely one of the reasons I got into sim racing during the Pandemic. I'm currently in college, and I'm in a class where we are doing a research assignment, and I chose simulation games, specifically sim racing and it's effects on real world racing. I'm going to be looking into the details of Jann, Max, and yourself, and seeing how sim racing can both keep real drivers sharp and allows normal guys like us to both get a sense of what it's like to drive these machines as fast as we can and, in the case of Jann and yourself, become real racing drivers. Glad you're still going strong, glad you're living the dream.

Also gotta take into account that you're obvs not feeling the G forces or have a risk of death if you bin it in the sim. Pretty sure Neel Jani said the 919 Evo could've gone faster, but the human body simply wouldn't be able to handle the Gs and react fast enough

Not only slower top end, but sebs car was even slower then most in a straight line when he was winning. Thing just handled like a damn slot car
@kwl189Ай бұрын
@@sward0483 as I recall, they traded off straight line speed for downforce or rather optimised for it because they could ward off any attacks from behind with KERS and run the engine in higher modes because although the Renault wasn’t the most powerful engine, it was one of the most fuel efficient. DRS etc wasn’t that impactful and aero led regulations led to a massive issue with dirty air. Cars would struggle to crack 300kph just barely but the blown diffuser and throttle being kept open through the corners and downshifts to keep feeding the diffuser made for the most brutal of downshifts and rear stability that is every drivers wet dream. I hate to be that guy, but the RSS car isn't fully based on the Red Bull. The nose is borrowed as a combination from the Ferrari and McLaren of the same season, with portions of the rear underbody also sharing some of the Ferrari's details. Minor thing because it's one of the greatest F1 cars available in any racing game full stop. I like throwing a fictional livery on it, and racing against the actual cars from that season (usually bootlegs, but that's why I'm driving the RSS machine).
