I bought one of these a couple of years ago, only moved it on as I bought a Gibson melody maker and couldn't justify two similar guitars. I think they really punch above their weight. Needed a set up and you get a guitar for the money you pay, but with a little love it did me alright. Video quality seems a little higher these days Jonny, keep up the good work.

Great review and demo Jon! Out of the two, I prefer the Gear4 music Jr. From what I can hear, the P-90 in the G4M has a lot of bite and clarity when it's pushed a bit harder. The Harley Benton does have the double cut away which I do like but, it just sounded a bit muddy not as much high end as the G4M. Both are great and would definitely out perform one of the cheapest Epiphone LP Jr. Guitars out there! Keep up the good work!✌😎

Great clip Johnny. Good indie tones from the G4M. Its all about playability though

the through body strung hard tail really has some good long winded sustain. sounds as good as anything really.

I thought the HB sounded the best out of the two but the G4M is a real looker, what a finish on it, maybe you could swap the HB pickup into the G4M and get the best of both worlds !! 👍🎸😄

These type of guitars are balls to the wall Rock machines. Plenty of guitar for the money whatever the minor shortcomings.

Hello Johnny I liked sc junior, the classic rock with single p90 is great recipe 🙏👍

Looks and sounds good. I do prefer string through body guitars as it means there’s less bridge to get in the way of the picking hand, though it can be a bit more of a faff when restringing.

I thought the HB had it in terms of sound, the Gear4music P90 sounded a bit rough round the edges. I'm liking the Gear4music construction though,, wider neck, string through, and the colour is a knockout, especially for the money.

Hi Jonny, sorry I'm a bit late getting here. That's a very cool looking guitar. I love a P90 so that guitar is right up my street. I liked the sound of the G4M but the HB was maybe a little more defined if that makes sense. Both sounded good so in the end it's all down to personal taste. If it was just on looks then the G4M wins hands down.

I like the string through bridge/ tail, like the colour and i think the headstock shape is great, arguably better functionally than the premium branded version. I'm not keen on the fretboard, looks very dry. And dare i say it there are a few things on it that look 'cheap' I'm not even sure what but there is something about it. This doesn't seem to be the case for HB / Fazley's most budget friendly guitars.

A string through single cut I like that and it sounds good I’ll have to see if I can find one in black 😊

Not keen on the string thru with that bridge. It looks cheap but then again it is. I think the H B guitars look and sound better . I have a DC junior fat after a new tail piece fantastic

I love the Pelham blue type colour and metal flakes in the finish but I'm not quite 100% in with the shape, I'd prob get used to it LOL. I like the natural wood finish and edges really cool ,string through body too, love the classy headstock. Neck looks like it could do with some fret conditioner but other than that it's pretty cool for the price hey?

I have the Fazley LP Junior which is great value, the G4M sounds and looks good but any tuning issues with the string through?… cool video cheers Jonny!👍🎸

Mate I've played for 40 years, and I can't gig with humbuckers anymore. Love the openness of single coils and P90's. You have to put up with a bit of noise, but you hear every note as clean as a bell if you pick them right. Great video. Keep it up. Cheers

Nice looking junior. Do the ferrules come loose or fall off when the strings get changed? Is it easy to intonate? (Funny, I thought the Benton sounded brighter.)

Is there a ding on the body? And also the finish on the pick guard edge looks pretty rough? I appreciate it's £127 though. I do fancy a junior style guitar for some dirty blues ;-)
@BudgetGuitarShow2 ай бұрын
No ding on the body, except is a bit rough where that binding ding is. The pickguard is rough cut looking, but that could be the wrap that I haven't pulled off. It does expose a bit of the body underneath the guard. If I get some cash back I will do a tear down and look at it properly.
