Just the way it is, but it still hurts finding out. I live in a city that feels like a small town because everyone is in everyone else's business. But I'll tell you my most "break-up in a small town" moments. I worked for a small family owned bank in a smaller town, where my boyfriend at the time was a police officer. Well, when we broke up it wasn't exactly a clean break but we didn't hate each other. The bank I worked at was very small, only 2 branches and probably a total of 25/30 employees between the two locations. Well, we were having a family cookout at the bank where everyone brought their families, etc. I took my cousin with me, she was my best friend and all my work friends knew her so it was going to be more fun with her there. Now, she had I were 6 years apart and she was tiny... 95-100lbs soaking wet. Well, here walk one of my coworkers that I knew pretty well because we had mutual friends and she would go out with us a lot... and walking up with her, the ex. I thought my cousin was going to attack him. LOL I felt so disrespected by him, because obviously he knew where I worked and that I would be there, so that was kind of a slap in the face. But also, because she had gone out with our group of friends enough, she knew he was my ex, so I thought it was a bit trashy. I didn't care if they dated, go for it. But I just think it wasn't appropriate to be at this work event together. Next time our group went out she got so drunk, as usual. But she kept hanging on me and saying she knew I hated her and she was sorry. Me being petty at the time said... "for me to hate you, I'd have to give a shit about you. So, you're safe... enjoy him while it lasts, he has a habit of putting his thang where it doesn't belong."
