Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

Just to note, the credits earned by selling the last helmet was legitimate so you can give it back to yourself if you want. Apparently in the pile of 30 credit "Horizon Helmet White" helmets that you picked up there was also one 690 credit "Horizon Helmet" that looked white as well but wasn't quite the same as the rest. My guess is whomever cleared out their inventory after finding out the helmets they collected were only 30 credits each dumped out all their white looking helmets including one that wasn't quite the same.

Here's a suggestion you may or may not want to try, I just thought it would be an unusual way to make some credits. HDMS Edmund is about 70km away from Loreville, and to test out my hypothesis I took a ship there and looted the site, then flew close to the ground back to Loreville and I think it's pretty doable with a ground vehicle (though lots of debris along the way). Edmund is beside a lake so you just have to leave Loreville and keep the water on your right, and on the way back you can see Loreville on the horizon almost the entire way. Not sure from which gate you'd want to leave Loreville though, as I was flying a ship. I earned about 7500 credits including a chest armour piece, a couple arm pieces, leg armour, a few helmets, and a few multitools with attachments. The only thing I'd suggest is to not do it during a stream because it increases the likelihood someone will see your plan and go out to loot the site before you can get there. It's unlikely cargo haulers will go there on a regular basis because it only sells aluminum, so you just have to worry about people looting the site while doing a box mission.

You can cover 70 km easily with a hoverbike or other ground vehicle the bigger problem is risking to get stuck in trash and or missing the station since you cant put a marker down to find it. It got a lot easier with having a compass in at least but still finding the station when you are just on the ground is not that easy ^^

Yeah I absolutely plan to keep doing these types of videos as more missions, careers and opportunities come along. Often I’ll keep a zero to hero series going until there is a new wipe or new patch. Will have to see how 3.20 looks and whether I start from scratch or keep it going :)

I'm so down for this type of playthrough when there are more systems in place to make it more possible. -Jobs that are all able to be done in-city. Some used to exist in Lorville. Running packages from the Spaceport to a gate. -Markers for when I need to travel without QT or return to a location. Things like that.

#1 Panhandle #2 check empty bottles, (dumpster dive) #3 hospitals dropped suits and helmets #4 steal, pick a hanger and lay in wait, also works for panhandling and looking for work. #5 I don't know if this would work but try on armor...and RUN! I like this idea of starting from scratch I'm going to fallow this story and maybe when I've learned more give it a try. Thanks

I started a similar run before Lorvill 2.0 hit, "upgrading" my starter to an Ursa, which has no free ship attached to it. I didnt know about the gate 6? mine, so my runs were for the quantum beacon due east of lorvill, 120 km out. Made my first run with no backpack, hand carrying the minables back to the vehical storage, then driving the 120 km back to sell them. Second run, got stuck on the way back, but had a backpack to stuff most of the minables in before emergency services rescued me. Then Lorvil 2.0 hit, changing the terrain significantly. first attempt I got turned around, drove north and into the water. Second attempt, got 60km out and got stuck, called emergency services. That's about where I'm at.

My start: Requested to join someone on a bunker mission as a loot runner. Outcomes: Ended up having to fight for my life in a bunker when team died. Due to the harrowing experience my character became a hardened solo specialist mercenary contractor later recognised formally by MT Protection Services.

Hi there! :) love the idea. awesome video. Just wanted to put out a Idea for you. When you sell stuff and the game messes up and gives you more money, You can always do a time pass where you are asking the NPC for spare change and say the extra money is from panhandling. Also if you take a cutlass Black out into a asteroid field and damage it enough or knock the engines off you can still jump it back to the home base not sure if you can do it with all ships, but the idea for this is that you can say you picked it up at the scrap yard for a few bucks or found it abandoned and had it towed back to the homebase hanger so you can fix it up, and stuff may be even sell it for some extra cash and keep doing this with other ships as well. I am not sure if you can really sell the ships the you buy in game, I am still new to the game my self. any way hope you like the ideas I love the video and looking forward to seeing more. Cheers!

You cannot do that on New Babbage as there is no shop there (or terminal) to buy the medical gown (as i know). But it could be an additional challenge to do a zero to hero series there rightly.

OK I like the idea of this Zero to hero looks like it will be fun. Remember the Cyclone is available to rent for 1,475 aUEC for 3 days. you can get that together with the stuff you pick up. Just rent then go mining that cave. That should set you up nice. One run on that cave should get your ship flying. Then you do not have a useless Cyclone sitting in your hanger. so many new players to not have any idea how nice a rental can be.

At one point back in the day there were delivery missions with pickup and delivery at different locations in the same LZ. I really hope CIG includes a variety of missions like that, that don't require a ship. I also hope they provide a buy/sell order system with escrow, and storage in the LZ (or station), so that one could simply sit in the CBD and trade.

I must admit, i love the idea of not starting with a ship. I still think its a good idea to have a game package around 20 - 25 bucks without a ship and the without the ability to fly ships. Call it the crewman pack. Maybe even give the ingame ability to earn a livence through reputation and ingame money. But i actually believe that the whole game could benefit from that low entry account types. It draws in a lot of people that have no desorr to fly themself but would happily crew up to do stuff and travel the verse.

As soon as you ask for help in Star Citizen people will start sending you money, try to get you fly their 890 jumps, and bring you most profitable missions in the. They've all purchased giant spaceships and have no friends to show off to so their thirsty for new players who they think they can impress.

I expect these kinds of starter-lores from CIG, but I doubt they will ever deliver something like it. Imagine having to pick between a handful of professions when you start up Star Citizen the first time and then getting "from zero to hero" by actually working your ass off in different story lines for a few days. Earning your first old and rusty ships by doing the needful and maybe even offering your workforce to more sucessfull players on designated ingame platforms etc... Gold.

I do this often. I would rent a ROC and mine around New Babbage. Also you could find hand mineables. I desperately wanted to do Lorville, but without planetary navigation on ground vehicles its almost impossible to find your way. There is a bunker near Lorville, Edmund, and a cave. It nearly killed me getting to Edmund. If you had a bed in a ground vehicle you could do it, but glitches and other things make it impossible. I am very curious if you are able to make it to the cave. I tried several times and never made it. An Ursa is required because a Cyclone becomes to damaged trying to cross the rough terrian.

Yeah Edmund is a possibility. It’s very far, and there are about 3 settlements close by which are an option. So will see how it plays out 👍 I will look around the lorville gates for hand mineables too cos you never know

Here is something to think about.. I will be hiring crew when doing cargo runs after the 3.20 drops to live. Now a idea might be is to look for a job as a crewmen on someone's runs. be it bounties, salvage, cargo, or what ever.

if need to navigate. there's that 3dr party planet map site. same one lady Kate is using to plan our drive totally around Hurston outing . I find zero to hero runs in 3.19 easy now that they put alot more stuff like muit tools in loot boxs. the outpost marked farms even give snipers, rail guns, tools and other rear gear now. we tell the newbes that have noting but a ship and who are bad at combat. to do 50,000$ newbe mission called "Seize the Data" as the very fist mission now. As it can be done easy without any gear. the fist guy in captain's room is alone so its just, 1 middle mouse button to knockout that guy. take his gear. 2 shoot rest of guys form the safety of the top catwalk thu corner gaps. 3 dump all the NPC gear. free hack cards and nade lurcher in local so when blow the ship it all drops out in to a 2 SCU box. 4. Force mission spawn near them by, clicking abandon then Retake. no need for shields or anything as its the lowest risk fist mission to run. in terms of bugs ect. there only one NPC that has any risk of killing u. and that the one guy on catwalk

i just started watching you new zero to hero attempt. this is really a really nice idea. bringing lore in by yourself. i would actually love to have such plots in the game. i fear the start for me will be very easy because i have purchased some ships. not as many as some other ppl but i got 3 mining vessels (prospector, mole and Orion and a Hercules to haul my mining stuff to raffineries) but i wouldnt mind at all to try to start with nothing. you last zero to hero story made me buy a second account with a little starter ship and nothing else. carefull not use it for anything else so i dont get any items or rewards. just to play my own zero to hero story.

@@SuperMacBrother well i got the 100I starter ship just because i really like the interior of it. started out with some small haulings just a crate from one location to another. did that untill i could afford some FPS mining gear like a suit backpack and the mining tool. still felt a bit too easy to get to money but it was fun because you have a goal again within the game. but i really fancy your idea just by starting without a working ship.i think i gonna try that out see if i have the stomach for it. its really a nice series you kicked off there. rooting for part 3 now

you should go to Port Tressler, so many people think that they have house cleaners following them around, so many medical gowns lying around. Sacks of them at times. I have sold them in batches of 10 and 15 per login

I have a suggestion for your crew advertisement that you put out. if it lets you, you could specify that you are willing to be a crewman. but instead of having whoever hires you pay you directly you could have them share whatever mission that they are running with you so that when the mission completes you only get paid for the mission. with the stipulation that you can keep whatever loot you pick up. and only accept direct payment for jobs that aren't specific to missions like salvage runs and such. this way in theory you can be a crewman and not make millions on a single run unless you just happen to be on a high-value run and whatever your agreed-upon cut percentage is turns out to be that high.

As a suggestion: if you dont want to overdo it with being crew, why not offer to help with carrying boxes during deliveries in exchange for the outpost loot instead of a paycut? i have gotten a few new players to their first gear and basic necessities budget that way plus you can introduce the guide system as a good way of organizing this

How do you plan on installing the components to your ship? They are not for sale in Lorville after all, and the ship cannot fly...

That’s gunna be a difficult task. Likely have to get a lift to everus and store components in their ship, then transfer them into my local inventory at lorville. Not sure if I’ll be able to use scavenged components without getting a pp and cooler first 🤷‍♂️

Man I hope there's real ways to make money without a ship soon. I'm waiting for SC release to play again (or play any other scifi-sim) since I kind of burnt myself out several years ago playing SC and ED for almost 2k hours. And when I do my non-UEE character will be a zero-to-hero. My UEE character will be the one that plays SQ42 and has my $200ish worth of backer crap.

When you drive to the cave make sure to stock up on survival gear and food. Taking the salvage attachment for the multi tool might be a good idea too. I don't know what the full cannisters sell for or even if the ones you buy in the store are full or empty. Wouldn't make much sense to buy full ones if the intent is to sell them for money.

I'm Glad to see med gowns being worth something again 3.18 was 15$! In 3.19.0a at first they were not worth anything at A18. At what point did they make them worth 45$?
