This makes a lot of sense! And it would be an interesting angle, that sadly does seem to have been cut based on what you brought up. It also would explain something in Fallen Kingdom that I've always thought. The Dinosaur Protective website had a warning about illnesses, rabies included. And in Fallen Kingdom, the one scene that I always hear people complain about is the Baryonyx scene, how it gets hit with lava and just keeps going. Well if you pay attention when it is first coming in through the tunnel, it's drooling a lot! That's not normal but it is a sign of rabies. It would also explain why it seems so nonchalant when getting lava dripped onto its head, just a little shake and a growl and its back to hunting. Rabies victims are single minded when the disease progresses to a certain point: bite something and pass the virus on. So I think that the Bary 100% had rabies.

This video makes a lot of sense and I like this theory. But what about later on in Jurassic world where no Dinos seem to be sick. What about them, did the change something in their genetics? But that would make no sense because the T-Rex from Jurassic Park is the tea Rex from Jurassic World. And the T-Rex doesn’t seem sick in Jurassic World as it doesn’t Jurassic Park. What are your thoughts on this? Other than that great video!

I think that some of them adapted to have the antibodies to take care of the disease, like when they used Frog genetics and the Raptors were able to produce eggs, and how Blue was capable of mothering Beta. Just like everything in Nature; adapt or die out.

4:20 Thank you! My mother loves pointing that out to people, the atmosphere was way different in the time of the dinosaurs. She got that theory from riding the old Universe of Energy ride in Disney’s EPCOT, the original not the Bill Nye and Ellen version lol

I actually knew that the triceratops and brachiosaurus were sick at the start but I didn’t know that the velociraptor was sick based on what was in its nostrils of scent for the nose and rexy could not smell Alan in front of him as in T. rex vision based on movement while in the storm but it now makes a lot more sense why the dinosaurs got sick the dilophosaurus and Gallimimus didn’t get sick which is good even tho the dilophosaurus has venom spitting and very dangerous and the triceratops got sick by eating the stuff in the plants and the brachiosaurus we didn’t know how it got the cold or Maybe something in the plants and yes dinosaurs do get sick in JWE and JWE2 but the carnivores probably having an allergy or something but the raptors were sick too but the dinosaurs are sick but still living so let’s hope they get better! 3:07 Pro in favor of your theory: it was raining pretty hard which would make it difficult for the T-Rex to begin with but also pair that with your sickness theory and the scene makes perfect sense all of a sudden. 👍🏼 Con in friendly argument against this theory: a line from JP2, where Sarah says the T-Rex has the greatest olfactory sensor system (sense of smell) in the fossil record save but one other animal (the Turkey vulture). So even sick and with the rain, it might’ve had some inkling of them being there. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also thanks for this cool theory! Now the kitchen scene makes sense!

I think you were wrong about the T. rex being sick because when she was sniffing dr Grant it was raining and could have washed the scent off so rexy's ruled out

I have a theory about the Big One in the first movie did they use a leftover sample of her DNA for the Indominus in JW because she eats her own sibling an the female raptor kills her own too become alpha both kinda similar behaviours but you could say the Indominus did it out of survival and the big one out of territory. But if you dig into this theory it kinda piece together in a way they both kill for sport.

5:45 I think that Spitter (sorry, never could spell the proper name for this Dino) was a juvenile. The adults are much taller. Now my idea is, perhaps because its body produces its own toxins (the tar that paralyzes its prey) maybe its immune system is stronger than the other species? Rather like how it’s not a scorpion’s poison that kills it if it accidentally stabs itself with its tail, it’s the actual stabbing part that does it in.

The thing that is being forgotten is none of these are actually dinosaurs. In fact none these ever existed in history until made . Since they are part dinosaur and part frog . Both the raptors and t rex may have been efficient and effective hunters of large prey but both are also part frog which is more efficient at smaller prey like bugs . The fact frog dna was used can also explain why the raptors in jp don't have feathers and some the dinosaurs look different then the historical ones. Also frogs can be very slimey .

Could it be that the dilophosaurus blew a heavy duty snot rocket and it was mixed with its venom ? Why ? You don't see any venom dripping from its mouth when it attacked Dennis Nedry in the jeep . Now the theory about the dinosaurs being sick then it would be a recurring theme in the films cause most of the dinosaurs were thin and still young . Say for instance when Claire and Owen went to get the blood from the T-Rex Owen indicated she stunk and when he touched her snout it had boogers in its snout , Then when they were being shipped out of the volcanic island they were full grown and in their prime and healthy. So when they were loose inland they got healthy and strong again. Don't you think ??

I figured that the Tyrannosaurus Rex was sick. At one point in the film, the Rex lowers her head and is mere inches away from Alan and Lex. While she couldn't see them, surely, she must have smelled them, at least. Right? Well, no. She couldn't smell them because she had a sinus infection. And, I suffer from this nasty problem every so often. As such, I know what it feels like. I'm surprised that she didn't sneeze on them right then and there (as the Brachiosaurus did to Lex later on). But, I never knew that the Raptors were sick, too. That's a new one for me. But, now that you mention the Raptor blowing its nostrils on the door, it makes more sense. I didn't realize that it was sick at the time. As if I didn't love these animals enough (I'm literally obsessed with them...long story), their being sick makes me feel even more sorry for them. They didn't deserve to die. Now knowing that they were sick, I wish I could have been there and tried to help them feel better. I love my babies so much. In the Novel, he was a bad person. Nedry betrayed him cause Hammond expanded the planned system Nedry was contracted to install without compensating him for the added work and threatened to blacklist him to other companies. Hammond also cut corners everywhere. Automated everything to cut cost on park personnel for maximum profits. That miniature elephant, the Pachyderm Hammond made to show investors what genetic engineering was capable of was in fact a normal Elephant whose growth was hormonally stunted and as a consequence, was prone to getting sick. In the end, he confessed to the readers, telling himself that the only reason Lex and Tim were there was Hammond wanted them there to sucker Gennaro by seeing happy kids in awe of the Dinosaurs.

It wasn't a Virus, it was Prions. Protein fragments and cause proteins in your body to incorrectly fold, causing brain damage and death. Usually cause by Cannibalism. Mad Cow Disease, Kuru in Humans. Binging. The inaccuracy of the dilophosaurus depiction drives me absolutely nuts. I refuse to make them in the evolution games because the people that talk about the dinosaurs after they’re released for the first time always includes “them spitting poison on their prey”. The raptor conspiracy is a stretch too far. So is the rex. They were cinematic devices. The whole "rex only able to spot you by movement" - the proximity was done for tension. Likewise the raptors. The steam on the windows is a visual stimuli for the audience.

It just never showed up in its faeces because it was processed in its 'gizzard stone pouch' - it was explained quite a few times by the film makers and was filmed but cut for pacing. Just Google "Ellie Sattler High Five" for the filmed moment still when they discover what was actually happening to the trike.
