A tip I learned with electric blankets, lay on top of it instead of using it as a blanket. The heat under you will rise (heat always rises) and then reflect off of your normal blanket and then back onto to you. It helps keep a more stable radiant heat environment while you sleep, and also some mattress's can suck the heat from your body, and this prevents that from happening 👍
@lisapark2909
@lisapark2909 Жыл бұрын
Yes!!! That's hysterical that you even have to mention that 🤣 pretty much the rest of world who have had electrical blankets for ages (from the 80's) know that's how to use them. I didn't even think they would use them on top as a normal blanket 🤷‍♀️🤯

Biddeford electric blankets with the silver controller automatically shut off after 10 hours. They come in full, queen and king sizes. The king size uses two controllers, one for each side. Biddeford also makes heated mattress pads that use the same silver controllers.

We have a share in a syndicate owned boat located on the Norfolk Broads in England. It’s a bit like a camper van, only on water. During our winter weeks we bring with us electric under blankets and a low wattage electric heater. Your experience reminded me of the time my (now) husband and I did our first camp at the foot of Mount Snowdon (Wales) in March. We had bought our first tent and were excited to go camping in it. There was still snow on top of Snowdon and it was COLD. Like you we had woolly hats and layers of clothing in our sleeping bags but we were so cold we couldn’t sleep. By the way, the lack of daylight in Maine sounds like Britain in winter.
@Theendlessadventure
@Theendlessadventure Жыл бұрын
Oh goodness! We almost got stuck on Snowdon a few years ago - we started hiking too late and missed all the buses/taxis at the bottom. It was so cold, wet and windy...we can only imagine what staying overnight must have been like 🥶 We'll forever have an electric blanket and mini heater handy after this trip 😅

"You want some cheese to go with that whine" LOL. That's just the way it is on the East Coast in the winter-time. You'll have to wake up earlier. Did you check the fuses? for the no turn signals? The speedometer cable end probably popped out of the gauge cluster is my guess. ( I grew up in Connecticut, so that's why I know how cold it can get in the winter time). It's pronounced Bahh Haboahh LOL

Hey y'all, just for future reference Ireland is NOT part of the UK and there are a bunch of historical reasons (think centuries of occupation, abuse, famine etc) that it's insulting to suggest it is or make that connection at all. Not sure if that segment was awkwardly phrased or just an honest mistake, but wanted to give you a heads up as it's a common mistake for Americans to make but it's doesn't go down well with Irish folk at all!

Regarding the lobster, Maine lobster is actually much more expensive than Canadian lobster. So if you went to New Brunswick or Nova Scotia for the same lobster roll, it'd be more like 12 $ =) Too bad you didn't get to drive up Cadillac Mountain, but yeah your vehicle might not have made it.

Ok, I could understand heading northeast for Fall leaf season, but heading further north as Winter closes in? Nutso! I mean, it'd still be tough with either of your "regular rigs", but you're at least familiar with them, and they have things like working heat. Yeah, it's pretty there, but nah.

You have an electric throw but they make larger, bed sized electric blankets. Full, queen and king sized. 🛌
