I picked one of these up awhile back and it’s become one of my favs. I put it on a cut to fit fkm with an on the fly clasp all told less than $100 in the watch with the bracelet and clasp and it’s money. Great video as always love ur content.

No it ain’t. When it comes to quality it is better to wait for the real thing than to impulsively get a far worse substitute. I have discovered that I enjoy waiting for a new watch to come from Ali rather than the instant gratification from an Amazon purchase. It’s like two weeks of horological foreplay

I think the angled rehout really helps the indices sparkle. My CW Trident 600m has a more certical rehiut and it puts the indices in the shadow and I think they suffer for that. This is a pretty watch and has reasonable finishing (especially for the price). Technically the clasp has only 1 level of adjustment - the one you have it at is not an adjustment, it just is - LOL! Heck you won't see a better clasp on a $600 Seiko.

I know this watch is polarizing for some. In my opinion, enjoy this hobby as you see fit and allow others to do the same. If you have an objection to this watch, or any watch, don't give the company your money or the reviewer your views. I have had both this and the original. Yes, there is a noticeable difference in fit and quality between the two. However, for me, the Cadimodo fits better. Thanks for the review.

I’m not usually one for homaging a microbrand, especially an affordable one, but Helm’s wait list is outdated. When Helm first started AliExpress was putting how “ok” copies of Submariners and not much more so the wait was worth it. That’s not the case anymore. It’s a hell of a watch for the money also. @@adk7962 If you could come up with a better way to handle extreme demand as a microbrand, then I’m sure Helm would be delighted by your counseling. I think Helm’s approach is simple, fair, transparent and predictable. And it is risk free for customers as it does not require to pay months or years in advance. I waited 7 months for a Helm watch but up to 11 months for some other preorders while the money was already gone. Guess what I preferred.

​​@@WatchtheTimethey introduced the list because they produce in limited numbers that were all getting snapped up instantly. Whether that's still the case I don't know as there's a lot of competition these days and people have probably moved on to other brands. I believe they have made some effort to up the production runs. I waited 2 years for a Vanuatu and a Komodo but just over a year for a Miyako. My heads up email for a Khuraburi came last week and I think I've only been on that list for just over a year as well. Not sure if I'll be going for the last of the set yet.

@@WatchtheTime Funny nobody of the whiners has ever made some feasible suggestion on how to improve Helm’s approach. What are the alternatives? Have customers pay years in advance for preorders? Run limited batches and see who from a huge crowd is lucky enough or technically better equipped to grab one within minutes? Triple the company size with the extra costs passed on to the customers? Honestly neither of us has thought this through better than Helm themselves have. So something you could do is to reach out to Helm and let them explain their situation in a video on your channel.

@ulig12 I hear what you’re saying but I don’t really understand you feeling like you need to defend Helm from any criticism some may have. Everyone, including you are entitled to their opinion and I think people are allowed to feel a little frustrated having to wait years for a watch 👍👍

Good vid. Grabbed one of these a bit ago. Fantastic value. Feels a bit chunky for a though I do definitely prefer thinner watches in general. The Helm is even thicker and more chunky. I agree with your observations 100%. Great looking crystal. I like the rehaut and the round date window. I like the chunky hands and the relatively big crown. My alignment was perfect but I also feel the bezel is about 20% too loose. Watch just feels a bit tall and the bezel insert looks just a bit too big. Chunky. Still, ridiculous value. I've only worn it one day and haven't tried it on a strap. I was able to get a good fit on my wrist.

From images, I feel the Cadisen is more attractive than the OG watch. The silvery cream color dial is better than Helm's white. The muted blue hue on the Cadisen is better than the candy blue on the Helm.

Hey MA8 you nailed it SHOWING US a good watch with a good and affordable price but in my opinion BLACK or ORANGE are better than the white and Green too much GREEN and i dont like it and MAYBE is a god copy of the Helm Komodo WATCH ?.

Sweet review. I’m really enjoying mine and like others have also done, I too have replaced the clasp with a larger adjustable unit and it’s now a very versatile and rugged watch that looks insanely good on the wrist. I’ve been lucky with my example, it actually has a nice tactile bezel action with good resistance and little to no backplay and everything is nicely aligned. I’m still on the helm waiting list though……😂

Your review is excellent. However, the watch itself cries bad quality. That lume painting on the minute hand is so terrible. The brushing on the bezel is awful. Just to mention a couple of details I observed.

Wearing mine on holiday, and it's waterproof too. So it tells the time, and keeps the water out and I am not worried about it whilst on holiday, a great beater. It is also beautifully made and extremely comfortable on wrist. NH is running at 3 sec per day and AR does a great job. I doubt the Helm is really that superior.
